Ahah yes that's fake. I'm sure he bought it but internet nowadays love this kind of storytelling. He shot the first scene to make the video more interesting for audience and it seems working. He's just doing his job afterall.

I watch these videos, not to admire the restoration process, but to admire the amount of effort these guys put into faking the item needing to be restored. The amount of rust, yet no metal pitting is amazing. The fact the gear box and face were in amazing shape, despite the shattered crystal (hint, it is no longer water proof once that crystal is destroyed, and the inside would have been rusted tight)

Сделаем вид, что поверили в эту историю. ))) С такой степенью ржавчины, (как минимум лет 10 в земле) кожаный ремешок остался таким целым, упругим. Корпус тоже бодрячком. Но мы сделаем вид, что поверили.

Isn't there a shortage of people who fix watches? Why not document a simple process? It might be staged but its somewhat informative. Edit: watches may not be essential to life, but I still think people are going to want to own them for a few more years 🤔 😅

Вот только эти "мастера" берут новую вещь, снимают на камеру как они трут её тряпочкой и собирают, а потом "купают" её в говне и волосах и типа восстанавливают, хотя на самом деле они просто монтируют материал в обратном порядке. Странно что эти ещё не в бане.

Amazing how much effort someone would put in bringing back to life a 10$ chinese-fake watch. And that's the point. A Vacheron Constantine, even in the initially shown condition would cost quite an amount of money. On the other hand, almost all Vacheron Constantine watches would have a native mechanical movement and not a plastic quartz one. And a mechanical movement would require a whole lot more of skill to restore.

Buy two chinese 10$ watches. Smash and rust one of it using Hydrogen Peroxide. Go to your local landfill. Place the watch. Make a video cleaning the watch an partial restoring it. Swap the parts with parts from the intact watch. ??? PROFIT.

@@darktherapy Stainless steel is a category of alloy. There are many compositions (and grades) of stainless steel that rust due to a combination of physical and chemical forces acting on it leading to damage of the Cr2O3 layer. Abrasion and pitting can cause stainless steel products to rust.

спасибо за видео есть пару моментов 1) это вряд ли ориганал, соответственно целесообразность реставрации намного ниже 2) зачем было весь корпус с механизмом погружать в воду - неужели это не повредит механизму в дальнейшем? 3) как-то очень просто вставилось стекло 4) не увидел прокладку для задней крышки и резиновые уплотнительные кольца на кнопках и заводной головке, соответственно, вопрос к водозащите за проделанную работу респект, безусловно удачи каналу и Вам лично

Ok don't see why everyone gets upset about how he finds stuff. He is just making content finding it isn't the point. Also is the watch a knock off or not isn't the point, it is in bad shape and he really did fix it. It is working again. From what I could see all parts were working again and most knock offs you're lucky it tells time with just stickers for the other bits. So good for him and fixing a good looking knock off.

Then ill make it look like its been sitting out side for the last 100 years, (ever though it isn't vintage) ill brake the crystal; then ill pretend I found it, get some solution that will remove all the faux patina that I just put on it, slap a new strap, battery and crystal on it... Then ill upload it to youtube to try and scam you and thousands of other viewers.

Most of these "restoration" videos are like that. Considering all the dirt when he found the watch, the internals are in really great condition even the case itself. This is obviously a fake video

@@jxpstfu2450 yeah, anyone who thinks is was real is an idiot. it sucks that there are so many of these fake restoration videos around because i quite enjoy the real ones. i don't even respect the guys who actually can restore an item, but dirties it up for the thumbnail.

@@jxpstfu2450 The ones I watch are different though. This is obviously fake as f... And the watch is a cheap fake too, because smashing up a real one for a KZfaq video and fixing it in a way that would destroy it for real would be a rather dumb idea.

I just love how he stumbles onto an expensive watch in a dump and then happens to have all the specialty tools needed to fix said watch and the skill along with it. A+ for skills, D for thinking anyone was dumb enough to buy the rest (sadly some did I'm sure).
