Restored two foot narrow gauge railroad - WW&F Annual Picnic 2022

Жыл бұрынIn this video we take a look at the WWF's line from Sheepscot to Top of the Mountain in Alna, ME. This line was abandoned in 1933 but has been being restored since the 1980's. It's most recent extension was completed in 2022 and can be seen here: • First trains since 193... . This video only focuses on this specific section so there's less repeating footage that hasn't been uploaded previously. Along the route we see two different steam locomotives, B&SR 7 and WW&F 9, and a meet between both of them at Alna Center.

They've done some pretty damn amazing stuff up there. The volunteers and paid (Jason and maybe a few others in his mechanical crew) guys have a really good knowledge/experience base to do some really great restoration and new construction.

Narrow Gauge Railroads/Railways are Great. No matter where they are in the world. Also, in the Thumbnail and at 7:40 of the video, I see a Hudswell Clarke 0-6-0 Locomotive. Very clearly a British Locomotive. Would be cool to see it running on the WW&F.

I assume that number 7 is running backwards because it’s heavier the number 9 in fact too heavy to be turned completely around on the turntable. I remember seeing in your previous video how they struggled to shove the table to the other track. Sister engine number 8 is even larger than number 7 and was the last 2 foot narrow gauge engine built in the United States out shop by the Baldwin locomotive Works.

They were only using the table to turn part way acting as a switch. Neither engines turned completely that day or at least while I was filming.

21 doesn’t look so hot. Hopefully she gets fixed back up. I was hoping to see it back at edaville this Christmas but I’m not sure about that with the way it looks

Its still owned by Edaville, their hoping of starting work this year according to Scott Lakin.

Was that engine 21 from the Edaville Railroad?

@@TexasRailfan21-RailfanRyan I believe it is... It's a European locomotive that they intending on converting to a pseudo Forney, but I want to say it was purchased in the last 30yrs or so, it's not a project from the original incarnation of Edaville.

Oh, I was just curious because they do have an engine number 21 operating at Edaville. I was probably confusing it with a different locomotive.

edaville railway was broken up between this and the portsmouth NH railway that was just in the news and was in danger of being relocated but will remain in portsmith along the ater.....PS you old bastard knowing what ediville was....LOL

@@BMMEC6000 That is edaville amusement park, not related to the original edaville rail road in RI. centered more around the thomas the train and a kiddie park. Edavill rail road was an established railroad. Now is established as a holding company and financial holding for payments and and interest holdings. But believe what you want. They also control parts of the dismantlement of rocky point amusement warwick RI and jolly johns rail road for south Attleboro Ma.. But what the heck I do not know what I am talking about
