Wearing the T-shirt the wrong way round is always a talking point with my staff and friends. There is a reason behind eveyrthing I do. So I will reveal the secret - The seams and labels on vests and T-shirts always annoy me, that is why I wear them inside out. I have done this since I was a boy.

I am always to first to cut off any tags and labels from my clothing but I would not go that far :) Anyway I love your videos and have recently started to actually do bonsai despite being interested for more than 5 years. I really didnt realize how big this tree was until around 6:53 or so when I saw you next to it from a short distance. VERY nice specimen tree. I have 2 Shimpaku, ( not sure what variety ) and will never see them get to this size. But you have inspired me again. Problem is, pruning foliage on these type of juniper is beyond my knowledge. Branch pruning isnt much of a problem, but foliage pruning is, I'm always afraid I will take too much, or badly prune the foliage. My 2 tree's were badly pruned a few years back and have finally grown alot of back budding to fill out the tree. So I'm pretty nervous, even after all these years, to prune these...great vid, thanks again Peter.

It looks so easy and if it was any other type of tree I would probably be fine but for some reason juniper is like cryptonite to me. However, i am determined to overcome this shortcoming by copying your every move. Your advice certainly worked with my azalea pruning - I now have loads of new shoots lower down the cut branches. Very nice looking tree sir. I'm sure the customer will be pleasantly surprised. As the tree sits with the front facing out from a corner of its pot, would you then repot it to align the front with the side of the pot, or maybe plant it in a round pot or just leave it?
