In this video, we're restoring a pair of old, leather cowboy boots for toddlers that were brought to us. This pair is decades old and was in rough shape. We do a complete overhaul on them and make them look as good as new. Time for another restoration!

Brings back the memory of our cobblers (who were brothers) that specialized in toddler shoes. The tradition was to have them make your babies first shoes and they also did corrective shoes. Long gone but not forgotten. Happy Christmas!🎄

Cool video and very cool repair! That brought back some memories. I had my first pair of cowboy boots when I was three. That was 1962, and I used to wear them with my cowboy hat and my two cap gun rig. The world was a different place back then...

It's so fun watching you guys. In our small town, a gentleman had a shoe repair shop for as long as I could remember. His store burned down, and because of his age, he didn't rebuild. Not many young people are interested in learning this fine art. 👍

I have my kid boots 67 years old not real bad condition, my mother saved them. I ought to get them to you, just to look at. I don’t have any grandkids so they don’t need to be rebuilt. Thank You Sir

I had a Hop a long Cassidy bike when I was 5 years old. ( early 1950’s) I am sure I wanted the boots too.😃 Outstanding work. I was fascinated watching the process. Nothing like a great Before and After to start my day. Happy holidays.

I've had a boot design in my peanut based on a specific style of moccasins. They would be hand stitched using real sinew, which would make them waterproof safeties. But not steel toes, rather they'd have composit toe caps.

Great video as usual. As you all know, the heel on a Cowboy Boot is so that the foot would not slip through the stirrups! I would hope a young one this age would not be quite riding yet! Thank you guys & great work

My wife has her leather baby shoes from the 1970s. They also must be stichdown construction b/c there is no welt. I can't believe how nice they are compared to most adult shoes today with plastic soles cemented onto split leather uppers.

In German stitched down construction is called "flexibel genähte Machart", wich literally translates to "flexible stitched construction". Thats a very designative name and its properties (thin, light and flexible) are most likely the reason for it's use in this case, I could imagine.

What a great idea restoring a vintage pair of boots instead of buying new ones which would definitely not be made as well . I actually ordered my flip flops before watching the video. I kind of miss the stitching that went around the sole in the previous version but by the same token I won't miss trying to keep them clean either. A Merry Christmas to you and your families.🎄

Thanks so much! We hope you enjoy them. Yeah, the white stitches were something we heard about from folks, so we eventually decided to drop it. It was also a bit more difficult to stitch through the new midsole material we’re using (better quality). Merry Christmas!

I think those boots were made back when people had large families and would pass shoes and clothes down from older kids to younger kids. This meant that these items had to be well made and long lasting instead of disposable.

@trentonheath Thank you guys for teaching us to respect and care for our shoes. I'd like to highly suggest that when you reveal the "after" restoration shoes at the end of your videos that you stuff the shoes or use a shoe tree because it'll give the shoes a better visual and "newer" appearance for the viewers. It'll prevent sagging and decrease the wrinkles when revealed. It's what I do with all my shoes as well. All the best.

Great little video. My little monster would love those boots . Then we'd go on vacation to Disneyland and take a tour bus of Hollywood and he would spontaneously chuck one little boot out the window somewhere in Beverly hills. "True story" He's now in college and a champion wrestler. He keeps both boots on just fine now.🤼‍♂️👨‍🎓😄
