My Aunt was living in northern New Jersey when Tropical Storm Sandy struck more than a decade ago now. She, at age 94, was without power for 29 days. I got there on day 4... and was able to provide power to her essential loads with my vehicle. She was pleased to have a hot cup of coffee... tho all the food in her fridge and freezer had already gone bad. She wasn't much for chopping firewood... but she did have a fireplace... so we heated her house that way and cooked with power generated by my vehicle and a 3500 watt inverter. You have a great situation... a backup and then backups to your backups... it's like you not only have plan B... but plans C thru Z. Thanks for sharing your ideas with us. If you ever do have to weather a storm, let us know how things go.

Hey just an idea for your tire changer. Mount it in the corner of the pallet to give yourself more room. Also ALWAYS ALWAYS use lube to both take the tire off and put on. It will save you alot of work. I use water and dawn dish soap in a spray bottle

Having that multi-functional PTO generator will bring significant peace of mind, especially with challenging times ahead. Put a value on that, in addition to the financially valuable asset you now have and the project seems well worth the effort.

I have the exact same generator. I made the trailer that the generator sits on. I extended a hitch out the back so I could tow a trailer if I needed a bunch of electric tools. I also made a bracket that ataches to the hitch so that I can set my welder on if I just need my welder. I put a 60 amp range cord into a small panel box with a few 110 volt and 220 volt outlets. I could do minor repairs away from the shop. When I was diary farming it would start and run my 7 1/2 HP electric feed grinder.

Hint for changing tires. Mix up a little Dishwashing liquid and water, make it a little thick and a paint brush apply it to the beads . They will be a lot easier to dismount and mount. Good job really like your videos. Have a good day.

Evan, a couple of tips from an old guy. I had a portable welder that had two 220 volt outlets and two 110 volt outlets. I could use the two 110s while I was welding for a grinder and lights. The generator was twice the size of yours and it was a 250 amp welder. It all was powered by a 20 hp Onan that did it effortlessly. Also when you are dismounting tires you need to lubricate the beads with soapy water, preferably dish soap. We love your channel immensely. Art & Melissa from Ohio

Nice PTO generator. It's a good unit to have. 14:00 Technically you could run it with the T654 and use either the 750 (540 Eco) or the 1000 PTO speeds and just run the engine at lower RPM. 16:00 The 2515 is rated at 2200 engine RPM, even though it can rev up higher. The PTO on the 2515 is also geared different that the other models so it matches the 2200 rated engine RPM. However, they did not adjust the marks on the dash. If you follow the marks on the dash, it will over spin the PTO as you found out. Not usually a big issue, but in this case with the generator is very critical.

The effort to clean it up was well worth it if you ask me. It went from looking like trash you pulled out of a hole somewhere to a beautiful little multi-purpose rig. I really questioned your decision when you brought that sucker home from the auction. I would have put money on that thing making noise and noise alone, not electrical power. Shows what I know!

Hi Evan, just a tip regarding the draw bar, the fact that it was bent in the first place means it's a weak point (ie no suspension). Maybe, no not maybe, you should have welded a strengthening angle under the draw bar so it stays straight this time. Love your format.
@stevenvogel6234

It’s probably not leaving the farm or going to be towed at 60 mph, but yes, it will bend far more easily now.

When I farmed, I had a 10.000 Watt Winpower generator on the same trailor you have. During a power outage we ran a whole Ehectric heated house while cooking an Easter dinner ( two ovens going - turkey and Ham) and never had a problem. I was using a Farmall H that had a week cylinder and was not up to par. I think Winpower under rates there generators. I also Used it as a portable welder for in the field repairs with a Forney 180 amp stick welder. It worked great. Good unit. On my farm sail it brought more tham I paid for it.

Good job. Well done! I'm sure it will be very handy around the farm. Pretty cool that you did not have to run your little tractor at full throttle.
