My Dad had one of those and when I was a kid I thought it was the coolest car in the world, and I'm 58. It started me on my JDM journey, so when I started watching your channel, I was so excited to see it come to life. I was one of those guys who kept commenting "how is the Z coming among" all the time, lol. I am so happy to hear it running and can't wait to see it on the road and T's reaction. I had 240s I rebuilt. I lusted over the triple weber side-draft set-up you have. I kept the twin SU side-draft but. had a light-weight flywheel, a mild cam and the higher compression 240 head with the 280 block. These cars are sooooo much fun to build and work on - so much room and everything was very accessible. Nice build!

What a Awesome car! I’ve only been watching for about a year or a year and a half! Carb tuning is almost a lost art! But this guy is DEFINITELY A MASTER MIND AT IT!!!! It sounds SO DAMN GOOD!!! Has a healthy cam and sounds really strong!!! So glad you went back original with the motor!!! Makes the car look and feel like it should!!! Can’t wait to see T-Money’s reaction when hears it and see it truly for the first time like a New Car!!!! Most Exciting Car Yet!!!

You should do EFI within the carburetor.. does not change the character but elevates reliability and fuel consumption a lot

they should be able to get EFI injector bodies that bolt right up to the carb manifold.

Tuning the Webers is a little bit of effort, but not an insurmountable bit of work. Decades ago I disassembled my triple Webers from one of my 240Zs, detailed the interior and exterior of them, screwed the whole thing back together with each screw in the same place, lined up the screws to their previous positions, charged the battery and it started on first start. Great carbs. Hell, even with the Hatchi SUs, I was getting 28 - 30 MPG. With the 44 DCOE Webers, it was a little lower but much more HP and the 240 was good for > 145 MPH with a Nissan Racing 5 speed

If you are working on vintage cars you should be able to needle and jet carbs to get the mixture right. There are more than a few good groups an books to help on tripple Mikunis.
