Part 6: • Restoring an Ancient B...
This barn roof was built alongside the original farmhouse in 1732, which makes it 288 years old. Over the years it's had its clay tiles replaced with cement boards, and a leaking corner has rotted away some of the oak frame. It was time for it to be returned to its former glory. This is Part 2 of a 6 Part series documenting the restoration. If you want to follow along, please subscribe!

Great video, this is my favourite kind of Joinery to do. Why when you are doing your tenons do you not turn your post and cut the other way with the circular saw, to save you all the chisel work? Regarding the dowels, there is an inexpensive tool you can get that you run the wood through with a drill to give you a perfect dowel. Really handy. Also, that sword saw is cool, would have come in handy on the gate you made! Top stuff, really enjoying all your vids.

You watch a project and love how it looks, all the talent, etc... then you see someone sanding across the grain with a belt sander...LOL. Yes, I know in the gist of things, totally doesn't matter. Just things you see as a finish and trim carpenter. Someday, I hope to attempt something like what you're doing here, on this level. Mine is all a much smaller version.
