I've had this on my 18 3500 Cummins Laramie (SRW-8' bed) for about a year and it's mated with the BDS throttle Sensitivity Booster as well. Stealth says they can run together with no issues so since I had that on the truck when I took it out of my 2013 2500 Cummins, I just left it in place as the BDS unit has a button I use on the inside of the truck to change settings. I have run the Stealth Module with the BDS boost off and vice versa. IMO, There is definitely more power at the pedal sooner with both of them on or just one on and the other off and set at higher response levels. So far no issues and since I am not deleting until my warranty is up, if ever, this works just fine for me. No issues towing and it certainly makes the truck much more fun to drive. I run 35" Gladiator tires on 20x9" +18 offset rims.

I have put one in my dodge 2500 and I will say why a difference, no issues and towing makes this Cummins which is a beast already , even more of a beast. Towed my toy hauler from Grand Junction Co back to Nv and the truck did amazing and she didn’t want to do below 70 mph , 12,000 lbs dry weight trailer all the way home

I had a stealth when I first bought my truck. Loved it! I finally deleted but installed my stealth onto my parents Cummins. They're stuck in Commifornia and have emissions test so the module was perfect for them.

If it doesn't change the programming or parameters ....all this is doing is increasing the ramp up..... technically you can just press harder on the gas pedal and get the same affect for 400 cheaper :).. This is fill your dpf filter more requiring more regens.

Ya if you where doing any serious towing re gearing would be mandatory. Because these trucks are pretty over built they will put up with big tires empty for a while but it is hard on the transmission. Adding power with big tires is just harder on the transmission.

Ask RamBeastProjects about having 37’s on stock gears and what it did to the trans in his truck. If you’re going to ditch the truck in two years, I wouldn’t spend the money on gears as long as you’re running at close to stock power levels.
@JayFlatOut
@JayFlatOut 5 жыл бұрын
He also had a hot tune on it, his is literally the only truck I’ve heard of with issues.
@bb502cid
@bb502cid 5 жыл бұрын
As I said, if you’re running at close to stock power levels you should be able to make it come trade-in time. The failure point is the 4-5 and 5-6 shifts and subsequent downshifts. Under heavy load the overdrive clutches will see premature wear and start to slip. With oversized tires like 37’s, the 68 has a tendency to hunt for its overdrive gears at low rpms. This is another contributing factor to the 68 burning up overdrive clutches. If you’re not drag racing to get up to highway speeds and you keep away from 1k-1.2k rpm highway cruising speeds, you should be fine for awhile.

@bb502cid
@bb502cid 5 жыл бұрын
I’d probably just ride it out till you trade it in. $4k investment in gears is something I’d only if you’re going to keep the truck. With gears you’re also going to need to tune or have someone with a wiTech (Snap-On diag tool might work as well) adjust the gear ratio. I’m running 3.73’s with a close to stock tire size and the acceleration is a huge improvement over stock. With my compound setup, it just rips off the line. If you don’t care about the ROI on gears come trade-in time, I’d say go for it.

I have the same module, but the MPG increase while increasing power through the module is not realistic. The MPG meter reads incorrectly because the ECU does not know that the module is "stealthily" increasing the fuel flow. The module increases power, it improves turbo lag, those are true facts, but it does not improve fuel economy. It's pure common sense, in order to increase power, more fuel is needed, thus that fuel economy increase talk goes to the garbage bin.

It’s hard to say, I know a ton of people with 40-80k miles who I work and interact with personally on a daily basis who have zero issues. Guess it’s just a gamble
@monsterram6617
@monsterram6617 5 жыл бұрын
@@JayFlatOut It is a gamble; a $6,000 - $10,000 gamble, to be exact, depending on how you'd solve the problem. Can you put 37s on these trucks with no problems? Sure, if you drive like you're 95 years old with an egg between your right foot and the accelerator pedal, and never tow anything remotely heavy. Here's one for you or any of your brave friends with 37s: Do a 100% APP pull to 90 mph and see how many don't get the dreaded "incorrect gear ratio" code. Once a clutch slips, it's the beginning of the end and there is no way to fix it other than a rebuild. There are other things that can happen too, like a failed sprag, failed pump, the valve body can "blow out", and more, but slipping the 5th & 6th OD clutches is the primary failure from 37s, especially if you've added power from a module or tuning.

@monsterram6617
@monsterram6617 5 жыл бұрын
@@JayFlatOut Tbh, anything that interfaces with the injection harness is going to pose more of a risk since it increases power, but not transmission line pressure (LP). A 68rfe can only make around 170psi of LP unless it is tuned and has some hard parts modded. Adding power without increasing LP is a bad idea, in general. Now combine that with the change in final drive ratio with 37s (3.06:1), add in an extra 200lbs of unsprung rotating mass, and you're on a direct path to burned up OD clutches. It might not happen tomorrow, but one day you're going to be on the highway and try to pass someone and that's going to be it: limp mode and limited to 4th gear. I'm not trying to rain on your parade or anything, but I really don't want to see another person blow a 68rfe for no good reason. Gears are between 2k - 3k and will give you more seat-of-the-pants power than any module. Combine that with a reputable tune and you'll have a monster on your hands. Add in a little more and your 68rfe will survive when your right foot surpasses your good judgement. But hey, it's you're truck. This is just food for thought. Take it for what it's worth.
