The problem with this is that the Longsword never needed boosters to get into space since it was built to fly in atmosphere and in vacuum (unlike the sabre)

You really forget just how big the longsword is, and it’s supposed to be the main fighter of the UNSC

For the Frigate, CCS Crusier, and the CSO supercarrier, ever thought about adding a slight shakey cam. to add more momentum and weight to the ship? I know they're all in space and there's no air resistance but just the sheer momentum of moving around what are basically flying cities would sure as hell shake up the folks on board. It would be a fun thing to mess around with. Sort of like how the camera shakes when using or you're on a Scarab.

I've wanted to fly a longsword since Custom Edition. This is a dream come true. Too bad I have MCC on Xbox and not PC 😢

Here's the thing: Detonation nuclear weapons in space creates radiation belts. You probably just took out Reach's whole orbital defense grid.

Actually the small nuclear explosion isn't that inaccurate, most of the damage from a nuclear weapon in atmosphere comes from the shockwave and heat. In a vacuum there is no medium for a shockwave, and the only way the explosion can conduct the heat away is through radiation. (light) What this means is that unless the bomb goes off close enough to the hull of the ship that the small cloud of plasma from the vaporized warhead touches it it will only cause relatively minor damage from heating and ionizing radiation, which are both hazards that spaceships are already designed to deal with. Admittedly the nuke as shown in the mod would probably still slag every small ship in the area and severely damage Anchor 9 or the corvette if treated realistically because Halo, like most soft sci-fi, has spacecraft way to close together.

Nukes against space vehicles reminds of the AIR-2 Genie rocket, a real life nuclear rocket carried by interceptor aircraft like the F-106 Delta Dart during the Cold War. They were intended to destroy large formations of bombers. Super cool.

i love this! my only criticism would be that the longsword resembles more of a slower heavy punching bomber type, while the saber is more nimble (hence the smaller shorter wings) so seeing the long sword do the exact kind of flips and tricks that’s a saber can do does look a bit unrealistic. sorry for coming off at nitpicking because you honestly are the best modder out there for halo rn!

is it possible to make a forge campaign it has actually been my dream since i was a young boy playing halo three, i saw mods on it ages ago but it was only a sandbox for xbox and not an actual way to spawn items in thu forge and i really want to. i know that it might be a lot of work and it seems like im asking for a lot so if you cant you dont have to but im just saying i cant be the only one wanting this right?

I assume they cut the longsword because it was just too large of a ship for what they wanted to do in the mission. And to be fair, canonically, it is a pretty big damn ship.

The Longsword I understand was sized to fit but is quite a bit smaller than the actual size per canon.

TO be pedantic just to drive you a little bit. An explosion of such a device in space...well,it would be spherical. With little spikes (ejected materia piercing the explosion envelope).

Is this using the Halo Reach longsword model that appeared briefly in Sword Base, or the CEA Longsword model? (Which I assume is just an updated version of the Reach model)
