Actually it's based on the Father of Sultan Osman who founded the Ottoman Empire. Nothing is known with certainty about Ertugruls life. Historians rely on stories written about him by the Ottomans more than a century later which are of questionable accuracy. This series was banned in February 2020 by Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Egypts Dar Al-Iftaa published a statement accusing Turkey of trying to create "an area of influence" for itself in the Middle East using its soft power, according to Yeni Safak. I should think there are far more serious things to worry about than this. I find these Turkish series far superior to some of the utter immoral rubbish spewed out in Western Countries and I'm 72 year old English woman and watching this from Germany where I now live. If history lessons had been like this at school we would have all been fascinated.

You should listen to the characters but look for subtitles to know the meaning! Dubbing loses the identity of the people, who are Turks and are speaking Turkish So how can they be replaced by any other people speaking their own language1

Hope the Ummah be united despite the differences. Sunni, Sufi, Shia, whatever, these labels divide us. We're so caught up debating on our differences while the enemy is laughing at us. They see us all as Muslims yet we can't see it ourselves. We dont tolerate one another yet we all believe in Allah and His Messenger peace be upon him. Ep 18 review : 8/10. Sad that Tougart is done for I guess. Plotting women are so dangerous 🤣🤣. The innocence of Ameer's sister reminds me of Haleema ❤️, the little shahzada was taken away by the cardinal and there is a possibility of conversion shown there... I wonder but did this really happen? I had no idea that there was such a deep history happened between Europe and middle east . The plot is going smoothly while introducing new characters and also maintaining the suspense between main characters... The expression on Ertugrul's face at the end was epic 😹😹😹
