They aren't extra cards. They used to give you an additional pack with just the sepias (pinks used to be in the cello packs). Now, instead of the extra pack, they just insert them into the other packs.

The 2022 Chrome Blaster boxes did the same thing with the extra card in every pack that had the Sepia or Pink.

Topps has been doing the extra card in the parallel packs for Topps Chrome Update for a couple years, so this change makes sense.

I guess I beat the average. I scored an auto rc in 1 out of every 3 blaster boxes. Most were numbered and best one was Michael Harris blue.

The extra cards don't bother me much though I do see your point. More importantly I like the overall trend that is developing of fanatics under promising and over delivering. I think soon you might seeing unannounced variations. It will be like the junk wax Era with error cards. Everyone going back checking their cards after they are discovered.

I'm sorry. Baseball is a game where players/teams always look for an advantage. No one ever calls out Boston for the exact same thing. What about the Yankees trying to buy championships every year and still can't pull it off? Then the pitcher stuff. Isn't today the Pine Tar George Brett Anniversary, too?? Altuve is an undoubted HOFer.
