That was definitely a complete happy and very healthy ending ... Both of them needed to heal the past before being able to fall in love again... Nice that they felt compassion for each other and decided to close previous chapters in order to start a completely new one without dragging pain from the past. The characters were very brave and wise in the end. Profound and beautiful film. Thanks!!

For me the highlight of this movie was the biracial couple telling them if they make a cute couple they were also a gorgeous couple too plus I loved how they checked on them to see if they were uncomfortable they weren't uncomfortable with them kissing like other people would seeing a gay couple love this movie great representation to the straight couple love how they were being open-minded and caring

Thoroughly surprised with this film!!! I almost waited to click on it, because I should have gone to bed, but I clicked and stayed with it. May I just say, the black actress, who was with her bf, is so pretty! I could not take my eyes off of her. If I'm reading the end credits correctly, her name is Sydelle Noel. Lastly, this film really emphasizes how so many gay men are alone, even in a crowded room of people.

I've read many of the comments, and I guess I'm just going to be saying the same, but this is a real gem of a gay movie. Watching and waiting to see how the intriguing story-line would pan out was engrossing and exciting, and the both the dialogue and the acting was first rate. Even the cameo from the black woman and her boyfriend was terrific. Truly one of the best gay films I've seen.

@El pacensero Hey, thanks for your reply. The 'cameo' I was referring to was just their brief story-line ... I thought it was nice, the way that the two couples became friends for a brief moment in time and it was well acted. I wasn't saying there was any parallel as such. Glad you liked the movie, I've watch it twice now. Best Wishes to you, Terry

It did make me go back to the times that I was pushed out to leave my home and everything that I knew. All in a young age, I was defining myself to be gay man and learning to move forward. Like He said: Sometimes. we are good in how to start over. I did... I don't regret it. I know the value of people and things with all that I had achieved. We all have different realities that ended up being the same in some ways. We just have to endure pain in order to be the best version of ourselves.

I really enjoyed this movie, even with the bitter sweet ending. The actors were very believable as was the writing and the whole production. It was like Pretty Woman but a different ending. It was well worth watching. My favorite Gay movie is I Love You Phillip Morris with Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor. It was so good that my sister said both actors deserved Academy Awards, and it was based on a real life story.

Tuc Watkins and Devon Graye are so good in their performances in this film. I like that it did not turn into "Pretty Woman" where the leads sail off to the sunset in a white limo. This still had a transactional feeling to the relationship even if Devon Graye's character felt involved in the end by breaking the role play. If you watched GOOD LUCK TO YOU, LEO GRANDE, you would get what I am saying. But overall, this movie was good.

Having a sugar daddy it’s not enough. We all need pure love, with not restitution. Leaving life thinking about the past, it’s not a healthy way to move on with another relationship. At the end of every one of us, the past will be done. Not matter if we hide it, the true will be s cloud in top of us. I haven’t been a promiscuous male, but if I meet someone at this time of my life. I will be as honest, like I had learned from my parents. Excellent movie.

So good and yet so sad and true. I still in my 65 years of life struggle to accept why love has to be that double edge sword and the search of love a lifes battle for many of us. I too have my moments in time stuffed away in envelopes stored and dated because life was so good it's too painful not able to touch or look at without without hurting. Five years ago I lost my husband and yes the age difference was 17 years we were togeather 13 and raised 3 children from his previous marriage... happy times. The truth is we don't have a choice when we lose a loved one no matter how much we try to hold on to anything and everything about them ...life keeps going on without us the difficulty isn't just with letting go of the past or the would of... could of... I wish thoughts that will never be but it's the trying to catch up to life and be present in real-time that many find difficult, for me I'm a work in progress this movie brought up some painful feelings yet provided some healing at the same time. A great movie is supposed to pull you in and this one most definitely did that for me.

Have never heard of this before - it’ feels to me like one of the best interpretations of what being a gay man is in real terms , in contemporary times that I’ve seen. Creates its own nostalgia, is self relieve as a captivating story and portrays the self imposed loneliness we gay men keep choosing over and over to stick with yet gives a glimmer of hope that we can choose differently next time …. The ending isn’t fairytale like ‘Pretty Woman ‘ , it’s “ Gritty Men “ but all along the way it got me to feel , not think. Overall intelligent , well shot , well acted and cathartic. Jonathan left money to Brandon and headed for Grand Canyon first to wait for Brandon (Adam). Brandon was at first disappointed waking up only to discover the sad reality. But the disillusionment had lasted only for second and he turned smiling. Only after seeing the note stating that the bus fare was left with much thoughtful reminiscence that Adam once told Jonathan than he had got air fright. The ending note just states that Jonathan is willing to accept Brandon's new identity and starts a page fresh waiting for Adam to finish their planned journey to Grand Canyon. Adam's last shot was cheerfully booking Grey Hound heading towards Grand Canyon but not way back home. It could be an open ending book with different choices pending on audience choice, whichever chosen reveals much on the optimistic/ pessimistic views of the audience themselves. And that's why it's a superbly outstanding film with great plot and extremely heartwarming/ soul-shaking reprise, and much left unsaid words...

@@juliejonathan2630 Yes, he bought a ticket back to Dayton, Ohio. Adam granted both himself and Jonathan the chance to leave their recent sorrow filled years behind and restart the engine. @billlee5679

@@juliejonathan2630 I just thought that the ending smiles of both people in last shots left much untold yet they must signify a lot. It brings me the director won't shoot anything meaningless all through the film. That said, Jonathan returning to the bar "patching back" with new Brandon (Adam) is already an "official" ending ... after all love life destiny and fate are unpredictable and "temperamental" as we audience shouldn't forget this main message... To be more explicit close reading the "smiles", what lies ahead is an infinite broad perspective of the Grand Canyon and the continuance of life adventures in Ohio... I always thought either Adam would embrace Jonathan at the back at GC or Jon would eventually return to see Adam (they are destined to be tgt and couldn't get apart - at least what every scene shows me this), but then such clumsy and gaudy ending isn't much the style and temperament of the director; and the tone of whole film... just my very personal opinion here...

I lost my partner of 34 years 1 1/2 years ago. This movie hit home with me in so many ways. I understand the loneliness and the desire to hold on to the past. But I found out as time went by that isn't the route to go. I don't know if I'll ever find love again or not given my age. And I am terribly lonely as well. However if there is a new chapter to be written in my future I will certainly not run from it. I'm just kinda like ... in limbo. That's what happened with my dad when my mom passed 4 years ago. He was too committed to her and misses her dreadfully to this day. He says there is NO looking for him. Mostly what I've found with online dating is having to deal with all the bots, catfishers and selfish insincere guys. I've had no luck with that either. They say there's someone out there for everyone. But what if that someone out there was the one you lost? Does that mean we are destined to live out the rest of our lives alone? One way to say, love is complex and very few people in this world can understand it.

I have had a similar experience in Adam's position. I somehow figured out what was going on in his relationship, but I still went along with his selfish story that would eventually end. And it did, but I didn't regret it.
