Been there many years ago, one of my key favorite places. Got hammered on Retsina and fell asleep on the beach. Bought a pair of good leather boots made by a local craftsman, wore them for years.

It is great to see what are the prospects of other people about my hometown! As a teenager as I’m growing up I’ve never really thought that rethymno can be THAT fascinating for other people but now I can. Great content with nice details.

Rethymno is a fantastic place and probably the nicest town in Crete. Walking in the small streets of the old port is so relaxing. I stayed at Aquila Porto Rethymno and would recommend it if it's in your budget.

Hi Malini I am on a holiday in Crete at the moment visited the Kourkoulou vineyard yesterday based on your video. It was a great tip and I had a great tour and wine tasting session with the family. Eviva. Obvious etymology from Latin vivere, but there is another etymology, ευοί-ευάν , pronounced = evi-evan , an ancient esclamation during festivals of Dionysus (Bacchus) god of wine and tragedy.This esclamation is mentioned in the tragedy Bacches of Euripide.

In that case, how about we make our own? We can't rely on foreigners only. We can do this. The Greek Ministry of Tourism provides funds every now and then for such projects. Do some research and try to find one in case you lack the right tools for the job.
