WTF DOES “OG KPOP STAN" EVEN MEAN?!
Supposedly "original gangster”, can be seen as “old generation", personally viewed as “old-school”.🤓
I became an avid Korean music aka Kpop listener/lover since 1998. Korean and rap music were my coping mechanisms from the bullying I experienced in middle school through high school and my love for the genre has stuck by me ever since.
Unfortunately, I took a huge break from Korean music around 2015 when I was officially diagnosed with lupus nephritis and seizures; I was receiving and battling years of chemotherapy and dialysis along with taking 32 pills a day, so I had no mental/emotional/spiritual room to keep myself updated with the genre. Luckily, I'm in remission now! Doesn't mean that lupus and seizures are gone because I am still very capable of frequent flare-ups of I don't take care of myself, but I make sure to do so enough to manage and live as "normally" as possible.
When I made this KZfaq name, I was thinking from my graphic-design-major perspective of a brand that will not only describe what my content will be about but will also align with the times, and y’all know that “Kpop stans” have been a thang for awhile now so hence the cringe-worthy title, OG KPOP STAN. (My love for Eminem is also relevant.😂) ALSO! Just to be SUPER clear- me calling myself an "OG kpop stan" does NOT mean that anyone who's listened to kpop after me is inferior or less-than. A kpop lifestyle is a kpop lifestyle regardless of time. Please don’t get that sh*t twisted.😛

"The two of us shared the same dream" is actually about wheein and hwasa they go way back to middle school and they wanted to become singers/idols thats also the reason why wheein and hwasa are both singing that line

The last part where wheein and hwasa was harmonizing, the lyrics to that part is true and meaningful too. Bcoz they're childhood friends chasing the same dream. Even went to Seoul hand in hand to make that dream come true. I remember them saying during they're trainee days they would sit beside Han river and promising to each other that they will become singers.

Also to add to that, they said they would do it together. I remember seeing a video talking about how Wheein got accepted to a company but didn't go back because they didn't take Hwasa. Plus the story of the time Solar/Byuli pranked Wheein telling her that Hwasa wasn't a good fit for the group and she would have to go. Wheein's response was if she goes, I'm gone too. I love all four of these ladies. Love the love they have for each other too.

There are always songs that cause you to look back and reflect on what has happened in your life. That's what this song does. Just remember, life has its ups and downs and can seem unfair at times, but all the struggles and hardships that you may have gone through have made you into the awesome person you are now. I've been watching the MV all day and I was always on the verge of crying. Watching your reaction helped me actually cry. It is a very sentimental song and their voices are good for when there are a lot of feelings inside. I still was holding back for some reason, but know that we all are crying too. This song really is so beautiful and so somber at the same time. You can feel the emotions when they sing and it does get you emotional 😥😭❤ This was as song to commemorate their 7years and u cn feel the emotions frm those years. Coz it wasn't always rosey but they preserved and look at where they are now. The started this journey with nothing and everything aganst them. The fact they not only succeeded but are now one of the top idols, is so amazing. Knowing how difficult their journey has been makes you ball your eyes out listening to this song and album 😭

You need to watch the 1theK vocal version and the M Countdown comeback stage for this song. Perfection! I have never seen a music show stage like what they did on M Countdown and frankly no one else could have pulled it off. I'm still in shock that they released a ballad in the summer and people are really embracing it. Personally I'm not a ballad person but we were long overdue for a Mamamoo ballad, as it's been almost two years since Ten Nights, and it feels like they were holding in their power for one big attack. 😂

Form what I’ve seen/read from MMM, WAW is supposed to kind of express the girls journey with each other both as artists and people as they worked to reach they’re dreams. Kinda like a special album for their 7th anniversary :) I really hope you take the time to listen to the whole album when you get a chance! The beauty and power of this song, is you can 'feel' their pain and intentions - Music can evoke that emotion, regardless of language and Mamamoo accomplished that, 100%! - I watched the MV before English subs was added, and still got chills and emotions. With all the recent comebacks and debuts with cutesy, girl crush, etc. concepts. Mamamoo decided to do a 'vocal-flex' with a ballad. A great choice and change of pace. Gotta listen to the full mini album...IT'S A MASTERPIECE!!!

Mamamoo is master in wreaking havoc with your emotion using voice alone. I attended their concert (a must see), and there were times where I ugly cried with tears streaming down my face, just listening to their voices. Good thing we were still wearing mask that time

The fact that they released this project after they all completed their solos. The song was like 'hey we're still on the same road, we've been traveling/wandering either together or alone and have experienced so many things but we're still together'.
