Getting from Detroit RSG,I can relate to all the stories of deactivation, I was a 5* driver with Lyft, and got deactivated and to this day they never said anything to me about why I was deactivated, even though I'm a Uber driver also, and I hope you keep fighting for all the drivers, some of Lyft passengers were the worst, compared to Uber.

Breach of contract example: They quote you a price, you agree to do work for that price, they paid you less (shaving). A contract is an agreement between parties, creating mutual obligations that are enforceable by law. By paying you less, U/L breached the contract. You can sue them for damages. But before you can sue, you need to opt out from arbitration clause within 30 days after agreeing to their TOS

Robert, Deactivations are hard to fight in court unless you can prove discrimination (age, race, disability, national origin, religion…) In the US labor law, at-will employment is an employer's ability to dismiss an employee for any reason (that is, without having to establish "just cause" for termination), and without warning, as long as the reason is not illegal discrimination. Independent contractors cannot sue for wrongful termination, as they are not considered employees under the law. A contractor may be able to sue for breach of contract or if they were classified as independent contractor when they were actually an employee.

Robert seems like a nice person. I also feel bad for someone who is unjustly deactivated, but I have a hard time believing that 3 different companies “unjustly” deactivated him. He’s the common denominator. All of the points he made are about lawsuits, unions, lawyers, etc… Of course these companies want to avoid a worker like that. Edit: I just saw the end of the interview that he broke a bone (I’m very sorry) and that “he’s has a good lawyer” and got a settlement. Was that settlement from one of the companies or an insurance company?

I’ve only been doing UE for 3 months. I recently had a first. The delivery address was the same store I was shopping at!!!! I called UE and they told me to call the customer. I’m a female and I said I don’t feel safe. Maybe this isn’t a safe trip so you are UE. You call and resend the order. Well they gave me the address and I know it’s a nice area so I risked it. Got half way there and my screen flashes I look and it says in red letters, THIS WAS A TEST. End the delivery and keep the items. I didn’t like any of the items but I took them home until I could donate them. Anyway. I’ve not yet read where anyone has said they test us. So weird.

Nice man... A lawyer who has a "very good lawyer". LOL. He lost me when the word union kept coming up. My favorite line is when he said they are flooding the market with unqualified drivers. I almost lost my lunch. I guess there is an art to holding a McDonalds bag that few have the skill for. Perhaps that is why the McD's worker is now making $20 an hour, they have to pack the bag. LOL You both are correct about one thing. Uber, Lyft, Grub hub, and every other company in the US will break any law until they get caught. Then they will pay a fine which is peanuts and continue to break the law. The unfortunate irony is that the legislators who you are going to are more corrupt than the companies. Sure there will be some wins, like Seattle, but that is a pimple on Uber's ass and eventually demand will go down as Uber passes those increases on to the passenger. As an avid viewer and raving fan of SMTMC I see and read so much frustration. Perhaps I should open my mind to some facts. 1- driver count just keep going up 2- ride count keeps going up 3- revenue keeps going up Perhaps as with many issues in life, the negativity is much louder than the silent majority. Sometimes the facts are the facts. 6.5 million drivers cannot be operating at a loss and still driving. Good luck in your quest, Robert!

The topic of unjust/unfair deactivations is amusing. So, let's see here: a gig with mere pauper wages is miraculously now worth fighting (and paying to fight) for? It's a wholly inconsistent approach.

I’m not going to throw my hard work in nursing school for DUI. I don’t even drink. Alcohol. I really want to know who report me and sue them for falsely accuse and UBER just blindly listen to riders and refund their money like it’s Christmas morning. Well we drivers are doing all the work. They don’t even back us up. This is what this asshole do just hire people from India that doesn’t even know shit about what it’s like being in America and the laws.
