Undertale isn't really difficult anyways. It throws " IMPOSSIBLE " difficulty randomly when it's convenient for the story, and because you didn't get much training on the merciful goat and the repetitive fish before you get oof'd in the climax of your story

I think the only run that has “Impossible” difficulty is Genocide, and it’s definitely by design rather than random. Genocide is clearly designed to be a miserable experience. The grating BGM outside of the two real fights, repetitive grinding, and boss fights that are both emotionally painful and either way to easy or way too difficult. It’s meant to wear you down and give you no reason to continue beyond “Seeing what will happen”, then specifically points put this motivation and how it warps your perspective.

@@baconsir1159 I agree, and from what I understand, undertale is the only " choice game " that is aware of the player trying to find every ending... Flowey did it, and now he's how he is. The fandom invented a story where being souless made all emotions disappear in Asriel, but it only prevented him from feeling love.

Well, it's not the easiest, you can at least die on it. To defeat Asriel you don't even have to do anything, it's a lot easier than Flowey.

tbf avoiding damage from sans is far easier than avoiding damage from omega flowey after a couple attempts. flowey is only seen as easier because the amount of mistakes you can make is far higher. But it does give a first impression of being much harder.

If you are fool enough to get attached to the characters this game does terrible things to your emotions. It basically evokes that feeling of warmth and love you had as a 3-year old when sleeping between your mom and dad only to then kill your parents, then you fight their murderer and after winning you get emotionally tortured into not taking your revenge.

gotta love how this fight is designed so that your health bar doesn't decrease at a simple rate. youve got like 10 hits in just the final pixels of it while the first few hits knock out big parts of the bar. cinematic to make the fight feel tenser.

I think the truest measure of a person this game can reveal is the moment of deciding to kill or spare Flowey. It takes a lot of people serious effort not to kill him. And that is the beautiful essence of Undertale. Choosing not to hurt, even though it is hard. Not because the game is artificially harder if you don't kill, but because you feel, truly feel, deep inside, that you want to do harm.

As your health gets low you start taking less damage, so you can take alot more hits than it appears, and I believe that during some segments its impossible to die.

@@creeperizak8971 That's correct, you cannot die in the soul stages of the fight. Also, if you are on a pacifist run, the game actually increases your max health. It's not really meant to be a difficult fight.
