I saw this mask in New York in 1979. It was so memorable that I can envision it even today. A true masterpiece that is absolutely unmatched in human history!!

They got into the tomb nearly a decade before and STOLE countless items from it. That's why there is an artifact from the tomb in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York that was acquired from Howard Carter in 1914 or 1915 that he claims was found in the tomb in 1922! Clearly he's a liar.

The Priest of Amun during the 11 century BC systematically plundered every royal tomb in the Valley of the Kings in search of gold, rewrapping the pharaoh's mummies and putting them elsewhere, except for one tomb they missed

Has anyone conducted a similar scan in the assumed original tomb of Tutankhamen usurped by Aye in the valley of the monkeys. Considering that Amenhotep III chose to locate his tomb here it would make complete sense for Tutankhamen to continue this trend and perhaps to bury Nefertiti,( whom some believe was his mother) also in this new location and possibly in the manner Nicholas Reeves has speculated on. We have the Amarna cache found in the tomb of Amenhotep II as a precedent so maybe it is a plausible explanation for her whereabouts?

The story of the mummy thT came bsck to life was based on hieroglyphics. Originally Claris ,A commoner dares have an affais w the princess Anunka. Instead of killing hin they let him live n serve her.. when she died instead of putting him to death they mummified him while he was alive. They wrapped and wrapped him till he could no longer break the wraps then they closed the sarcofagus then sealed the tomb. When they discoovered claris mummy they thought he was a huge man but as the removed the wraps n found the broken wraps they came upon his corpse n they deciphered the story on the wall and thats where the story n subsequently thr film came about.

"Robbed" is a misnomer. Rob/robbery occurs when someone (not a corpse) is held at gunpoint, knifepoint.., and forced to surrender money, jewelry, watches, gold.. Empty rooms, buildings, stores.., are burglarized, vandalized...

Why was this find so popular? It had to do with the trauma of the WW I. So many young man died in vain, so people could relate to the tragedy of this 18 year old boy king. And the beauty of the art was a great spectacle. Which many longed for.

@@candacearden4320Nefertiti was not Tuts mother and the Younger lady is not Nefertiti. Nefertiti only had daughters. King Tut was a product of incest. His parents were brothers and sisters. Ahkan had several wife's. He married his sister, she gave birth to tut. She was then murdered afterwards by an ax to her face.

Carter Faked Entire Tutankhamun tomb. Carter completely understood Ay tomb. he waited for 15 years with funding from lord carnarvon. he got influence from tomb of yuya and thuya coffins and made similar to tutankhamun. carter is very good artist but no archeologist like James Quibell. how can you imagine a tomb so undecorative of a king, exactly looks like ay's tomb and paintings so bad quality. Also tutankhamun tomb was found in floor valley and yet no water penetrated it while all other tomb was ravaged by flood.
