If they made Retroarch usable, beginners would make those mistakes.

Retroarch is both awesome and terrible. It really is a boon to the emulation scene and I would be lost without it. At the same time, the menus are stupidly complex and confusing. The Atari Jaguar emulator is the gold standard for how to present an emulator's UI.

Once mastered, it's frequently more functional than some stand alone emulators due to how it's control mapping works. The tricky part of ra is understanding core options and how the core interacts with ra.

I have multiple usb controllers for each console I wish to use. Is it possible to configure each of them without overwriting the default configuration file on RetroArch?

Yes, but I cant explain it in a comment. Need to know what you are using and how etc. But it can be done

@@warpedpolygon I’ve got a USB NES controller, as well as USB SNES and N64 controller. They’re mostly generic. The NES and SNES controllers are oddly enough recognized as SEGA Genesis/Saturn type controllers. The N64 controller on the other hand is recognized as just another joystick and has to be configured on its own. I’ve also got a GameCube adapter which works from the ground up without without any additional configuration besides core settings.

@@slothbaby2489 you can save core specific remap/controller setting files. These do not override the main config file.

When first started I spent a full day finding adding all kinds of nice custom icons butt I put then into a named icon file falt ui or something instead of cost custom and then few days later I updated assets and it replaced 90% of them😢

Global control settings. You want these to stay the same and change them at core or game level

How do you save controls for a specific system? Save content directory in the quick menu?

Yup you got it. You can do it for a specific core as well but by 'content directory' keeps everything seperate for muti system cores.

I have an issue if can help, I downloaded and added roms various systems, all was working great, couple days later my gamecube emulator suddenly won't play roms that were working?

Any change to your rom files including naming zipping or un zipping or locations can cause this.

If you can do a tutorial for setting up the Nokia N-Gage emulator and the Atari ST emulator, then I would be forever indebted to you! They are the two emulators I just cannae get to work within LaunchBox, for love nor money!
