Having one too. This thing is soooo worth the money. The Display is bright, sharp and doesn't smear during motions at all. And the sound of the thing is also very accurate. Except with some glitches with the built in ROMs like Super Mario Bros and Tetris. VERY minor things that really are the only sound issues i could spot (I'd even assume it's rom related). Purists might still not like it but I think for a 35 bucks clone it's blowing away everything. Using the Game Boy Camera indoors is now so much more fun too with that CloneBoy :) It's much cheaper than getting an original Game Boy, Game Boy pocket and Game Boy colour backlit. So far this is the best and closest to enjoy original cartridges on actual hardware without wearing out the original hardware.

I remember playing this GB in a clothing store when I was a kid. It has a fake Pikachu Game that's kinda like Mario. When you lose, it freezes and if you don't know the A+B+Select+Start reset trick you were just stuck there with a broken GB Boy Colour.

+Brandon Salt Your gameboy was still emballed with plastic and it was in its box. You are either lying or you have already touched your gameboy before (which I don't judge it's alright), but please if you did have touched your gameboy, tested it, etc. Don't put it back into its box/package just for the sake to take it off it and make it look like it's the first time you are trying it.

One thing I'm a little concerned about this is the screen is slightly wider than an original Game Boy, and it stretches the graphics a little bit. It looks like it doesn't really distort them, but it still seems potentially distracting. Still, for a $40 eBay clone system, I could do a lot worse.

For $20 - $30 you can get the real thing and if you end up with a grimy one you can reshell it and replace the rubber pads and screen lens, that should land you around $40 - $50 as well. The stretching is terrible.

I also ordered the GB Boy Colour. I waited for about 3 weeks then it came and I picked it up. But as soon as I had opened it I saw that It wasn't the same box as the pictures, but I thought that they have maybe packaged it wrong or something. But when I did open it It was a clone of the GBP instead of the GBC. But thing I can say now is that, I got scammed by a company that makes replicas of Nintendo handhelds. :(

I don't know if the one I got off eBay has 60 - Or however many - games built in, I REALLY wish it was Green, Yellow, or White, but it IS Frontlit!! Not to mention the Interact HandyPak Color & PulsePak Color I got to attach to it!! So, No, I can NOT describe how psyched I am for all that!!

No it's not. I have 2 of them and both of them crash and the sound goes out all the time. Good at first, but they last maybe 2 weeks before crapping out. Also the power switch broke on my first one. Very cheaply made.

I have one of these and the clear blue one. The sound doesn't work without headphones and the screen freezes when I turn it off.

I have ordered one, too. Unfortunately, mine seems broken. It won't play much cartridges and it often crashes and sh*t. I guess it's because I ordered it in winter and they literally wrapped the paper packaging in some foil and that's it. Guess it got too cold :(

have been using mine for about 7 days now. first one broke down in 5 hours because it had a faulty screen but my new one is great :) loving it so far! also for the love of god DO NOT REMOVE THE PROTECTIVE FILM FROM THE SCREEN!!!11!11!! the lens is made out of the softest plastic imaginable and it literally scratches by wiping it with a fiber cloth because of the dust between the lens and the fiber cloth......

so this is way better than a bit boy essentially is what I am hearing? it has some roms built in and it plays games which the bitboy doesnt. can you upload roms into it somehow? is there a sd slot? or usb port? i just want a cheap portable system I can add games to dang it :(

This clone has no USB connection, no SD slot and doesn't play ROMs. It's to be used with a cartridge collection if you got one. But if you just want to play ROMS you may just use a cellphone with a controller designed for portable gaming?

You can always use an Everdrive but that costs almost twice as much as the GB Boy Colour. But I'd rather manufacture cartridges myself. The equipment for that doesn't seem to be that expensive.

I bought 2. They are great but the d-pad is NOT great. I would rather have a good d-pad and a decent screen than a great screen and a crappy d-pad. I guess I'll play with it a bit more and see if I can get used to the d-pad, but really that ruins it for me. It does depend on the game, though, how much of a bother it is. The slightly altered aspect ratio doesn't really bother me, but it's an issue for some people.

For $45 get an R4 card and a micro SDHC and bam! You've got full games with save f8le capabilities. I purchased 2 r4 cards for 19.95 plus shipping. On the official R43DS site. 😉 Great video though man. I'm a huge gameboy color fan. It was my first game device. ♡

Toneri Ōtsutsuki I'm in love with the system, so $20 seems fair to me, just make sure it's not scratched to heck. For a couple dollars more, you can buy a nice wormlight for playing in poorly lit/dark areas; that way you can play it in sunlight or night time. :D

This console is actually very good ... for the price. For this price you'll get a decent console able to play all original gb/gbc cartridges, with a low battery consumption, a nice screen (even if ratio is not 100% good) and a good sound reproduction (all channels are present if earphones are used, but yes, there's a small bug with some rare stereo titles, nothing which is a big problem). I bought 2, one for me, and one for my wife. But in no way is it better than the original, excepted for the backlit screen. And infrared led is FAKE ...

My friend has this and a few other chinese ripoffs, they're not better the quality shows. The awkwardness of the wider look is an immediate red flag, the weaker d-pad. It's neat that it has emulated games in one package but that's really the only good thing about it you can actually do that on a micro sd and put it in the 3DS if you know what you're doing, I've seen it done. That's cool for your collection though, but I agree with most here and as an oldschool gamer myself and Nintendo fan, definitely not better than the actual GB's.

I can't say i've used it enough yet to give you a solid answer, but it will be significantly less than the original due to its backlight screen. I've played 5 hours+ already and its still going strong.

Bulbasaur is super easy, type advantage over first 2 gyms for ez levels plus those status moves are sick late game. Bulbasaur is the best choice whether the amateurs realize it or not.

I seriously think that adding an SD card slot to either a retro or knockoff Gameboy to where you could play Nintendo ROMs on the thing too would make it the ultimate Gameboy, along with backlighting and maybe a rechargable battery, if it's not like the better GBA SP models that have the rechargable battery and the backlighting. I know if I could find someone who can modify my GBA SP to take an SD card and play physical cartridges as well as Gameboy through GBA ROMs, I would pay to have it done.

Outside is correct, Inside electronics are very very cheap and bad... 2 examples: -The internal clock is at 5mHz instead of 4.194mHz -The audio synthesis is awfull xD

The game list looks like it would be hard on the eyes regardless... But the way the build quality looks is pretty good! Oh wow it's playing a real game boy game! Now I am impressed! (As long as the Chinese knock off doesn't risk any damage to real cartridges) But it's now on my eBay wish list.... I spent too much money on these Chinese systems this month..... & my wife is going to see all the deliveries & I'm going to get in trouble....... lmao So...... Wish list only for now..........

China has been making some pretty cool shit as of recently. Like, the Pokemon Green that is translated to completely fit the text from Pokemon Blue. And NOW these Game Boy Colors that outclass the old one's, Like oh my GOSH! I want one of these!:D EDIT: I don't know why there are so many butthurt people... Like, the video was welldone, it was not clickbait, and I have 4 authentic GameBoy Colors, two of them being the Pokemon Silver Editions (one of them was my first GameBoy Color and the other one my brother's friend gave to me) and one of them being the Yellow and Blue Pokemon GameBoy Color, and the other one being my brother's hand-me-down Kiwi Green. Even as I have the authentic one, this bootleg GameBoy Color seems legit having a backlight, and being able to have built in games, and who cares if they don't save... Most of those games on the built in Games don't even save on an actual cartridge... Nice video man! Screw the haters!
