OK, let's address the elephant in the room first - Callum, you do scrub up very well and certainly know how to dress for the occasion. This sort of video is the icing on the cake that makes your online presence every bit as professional as, and so complimentary to, the cars you build. Thanks to you and Nate, your team and your clients.

I have a soft spot for most if not all of the cars Retropower proudly builds, but Utah is something special, the vision skill and execution of the build is 2nd to none. I wish I could get Retropower to build my dream car but I'm just short of winning the lottery to make it come true.

Utah has that "I'm sure there's something different" impact. It carries the look and feeling of the MkII forward, and is different but not outrageous in its execution. Then there's an engine that sounds just right.

Gathering all of those ultra-gifted skills into a single location under “one roof” is in itself, one of the most exclusive and mind boggling achievements of this modern day so it’s no wonder that truly devoted auto enthusiasts from all over the world are in RetroPower’s forward order book, (which is probably several years long already)….

Cal, you and Ned have done a wonder at restomodding British cars. The old Jag you saved to create Utah would have been gone forever in a few more years; instead it delight all who see and hear it. Churchill looks to be another page from that book. Ian speaks the truth when he marvels at the shop full of talented, passionate artisans you have assembled. Ian, thank you, sir, for commissioning this wonderful car and for having the stuff to give Cal and Ned the freedom to excell . Drive it always with a well earned smile!

This has to be one of my Favourite cars along with the Moggy. You tend to forget about the owners that are behind the Cars, were they are not seen on camera. As we just see the car come in to the workshop in various states. The you see the progress week by week if they haven't been put on the backburner. We get to see the real world of cars being brought back to life and the time it takes to do so and some pretty interesting takes on the original car that improves them tenfold. Without Owners that put their faith in yourselves we wouldn't get to see such marvelous creation and the skills of the craftsman that help bring a rendering to life.

It was really good to meet the owner and, being a Mustang owner, to hear that he was seriously considering a Mustang. This said I see the Mk2 Jag as having more refinements along the lines of a gentleman's club compared to the more basic Ford.

Interesting view that completes the story for many of us. I like the spats, the engine choice, wheels, etc. No doubt this was not a cheap exercise but very many enthusiasts prefer to see this than simple "click and collect" of a new X, Y or Z. Thank you Ian, we have all benefitted from your passion.

The projects should be receiving at a minimum 50% negative comments on design/style choices. People hate change People have attachment bias People largely lack creativity People struggle with jealously Most importantly though sheeple need to believe they are right and need the safety of a group to reinforce their feelings of the "current thing".

@richardhintonracing
@richardhintonracing 5 ай бұрын
That is a good call. I was selling new MGs at the time the C was in production. It was wrongly maligned in my view by motoring critics at the time . They did not understand the niche it was aimed at, as a long distance GT car especially in automatic form which the engine was better matched to a Borg Warner type 35 at the time . Subsequently it has been discovered a design error in camshaft design/timing and a substantial increase in torque is now possible . Of course if you now matched that to multi port mapped electronic injection and ignition timing the results would be remarkable . There is a fine car there waiting to be created , whilst keeping the original style, with perhaps a luxury leather interior . The original navy blue still looks very elegant .

@@richardhintonracing it helps my dad had a late C GT in the early 90’s, so I have fond memories of it, hence my car for a restomod. I hear suspension improvements at the front now make it less heavy to steer too.

Utah, Churchill, Morris etc, they all look fabulous must have cost a fortune and are intended for daily use and yet their lack of bumpers makes them very vulnerable to clumsy parking, I fully understand Utah was designed to replicate a streamlined Jaguar hence the spats and lack of bumpers but Churchill is obviously going to live on the continent and in Spain parking by ear is the norm, so had it retained it's bumpers it would have required a hell of a lot less metalwork and confused the hell out of Jaguar fans who'd have been scratching their heads wondering why they'd never seen a coupe version before.
