Another great vid, thanks. Love the Stratos - but the dash material looks like a mock-up. Maybe just the bright sun on the lay of the material, but it catches eye 🤔

Another awesome video thanks guys. A few observations on the Stratos - this may be due to video quality, but the views of the dome interior looks like there are some poor finishes and the dash looks a bit how you going to me, could just be shadows or flock, I don't know. Wouldn't have thought to see this on such a superbly finished high-end build like this. Cheers, and thanks again.

The original Stratos interior is a stunning design, this unfortunately looks like a badly put together kit car. The section above the rear view mirror also is not a nice look. Interior is a big let down. I'm not sure on the back lights or the badges. All these touches need to improve on the original but I'm not sure that they do. It's a shame because the Stratos is an amazing car to perform a Retro mod on. I'm sure the guys have built it to an amazing quality but just feel it's not hit the design mark.

Looking forward to the Allegro being finished, I always thought the Allegro was quite a nice looking car, My Dad was in charge of the development of the much hated Vanden Plas 1500, I really liked it, I remember as a kid being taken for a ride in the press car (VDP74N) and enjoying being in the only one on the road at the time, I then went on to work in the motor industry and at one point worked for a company called Spectre, we used to drive around in the only prototype R45, always lots of guessing games from petrol station staff as to what the car was Ferrari ? Lamborghini ?

Question, if you will have problems making up the frames for the windows etc because of the brass being brittle, can you get them machined in copper, theyre not really structural and copper can be anealed and should be much the same as brass to get chrome plated.

Cal, I had a irritating squeak on a 4age that I had modified the inlet manifold and cam covers. It too sound like it was coming from the cam belt area. The issue turned out to be inadequate crankcase ventilation and the squeak was air sucking past the cam seals. I added a catch can and no more noise.

Here's something I came across years ago that might help a little with the clutch/throttle timing when shifting: when you find yourself naturally getting a bit of a rev accidentally because you're not getting off the throttle fast enough, try moving the clutch contact point a little lower in the pedal travel. That'll give your right foot a tenth or so more time to get fully off the throttle before the clutch actually releases.

Q. why don't you do the videoing at lunchtime to avoid the back ground noise. FJ40 noise? is the crankcase vented sufficiently? Had a guy come to me years back had put a 2.9 V6 in a transit and it had a squeal from the bellhousing. I pulled the breather cap off the rocker instantly quiet, he had put the breather pipe on the manifold instead of the air box hence pressurising the rear crank seal making it squeal. A quick test would be a pressure gauge on the dipstick tube.

The quality of the work and no expense spared on materials components or sub contracting is all to top standards. I have difficulty understanding customers choice of car / changes vs the obvious enormous cost involve in competed projects in terms of by definition what they are going to end up with and what it will finally cost . Clearly no accounting for taste.

The Sratos is looking and sounding most excellent - had the owner considered having the wheels finished in a "magnesium" colour, or perhaps copper to compliment that great body paint? I'd rather suggest you DON'T put the Morrie's slipping clutch down to a slightly too thin friction plate, but also confirm the correct set-up height for the pressure plate, and it's spring. I say that because such a small difference is not only within the expected wear range, which will mean slippage when the plate is otherwise still perfectly serviceable, but because the same cover may be used with different springs and pressure rings for different applications - possible even a flywheel with a slightly raised friction area.

Can't really call it a Jensen anymore, since most of the original car has been deleted - hope someone has all the parts in proper storage, so it can be re-assembled as a Jensen in the future, or at least made available to owners that need spares for actual Jensens.
