How to quickly prepare awesome #retrospectives in #remote by using a digital whiteboard like Miro?
Just remember, the objective of a retrospective is continuous improvement. The objective is not to create the most creative retros of the company. I explain how not to overdo it yet provide a lot of value for the team and help them improve what is not working.
I am using #miro an online whiteboard tool that allows an online collaboration of all the team members. Get more #agile with #agilestateofmind

Thank you very much for this video. One little recommendation: Miro offers the frame functionality that allows you to hide parts of the board for some time and when it is time to unveil, you can do so by a mouseclick. Another big advantage of frames is that you can export them to PDF format documents. So I store these PDFs in the Teams restricted confluence wiki area as a quick report. If required everyone in the team can take a short look any time without starting miro.

Hey Markus, sure, thanks for your insightful comments! Yeah, that's a great tip about the frames! If you use Miro, frames are a must to avoid chaos :) This way also you can share a link to the given frame as opposed to the whole infinite whiteboard.

Good stuff. It's interesting that you ended up with multiple columns, like in Trello. We do most of our retros in Trello. We experimented with other software like Miro, which doesn't force you to use columns, but decided things flow better in Trello. By being designed around columns it's very slick if what you want is columns.

Yeah that's right! I used to do the retros in Trello for quite some time too. And it worked. The teams ran their own retros and it was easy for them to prepare, based on an example provided. However, I like digital whiteboards like Miro as they are open for creativity - as I said you can go wild on your whiteboard 🦁

Hello Maria, I wanted to know how do you make sure the team is following everything they put on the sticky notes during the retro?

Well, this is the main challenge - how to make sure team follows up on the retro actions. First, make sure you don't end up with too many actions, let's say 3 is a max. Then, try to be creative on how to make them visible throughout the sprint - add them to the backlog, pin on slack, etc. All depends on the team's way of working.

Ha! this was easier back in the office. First, make sure to have a round during the warm-up and then you can ask people to group their post-its in one place and do a round where everyone will speak and put them on the retro board - office-style-like.
