The human brain is actually pretty cool in that for most words, only the first and last letter need to be accurate in terms of their position. Csae in pnoit, cosndier how realtviely esay it is to raed tihs setncene. Now that you know this, consider that the harder words to read backwards tend to be ones where either the starting or ending (or both) letters look notably different when backwards (or like different letters).
