In today's video I do a reaction to Pokemon Journeys Episode 68 which show off Ash's Infernape and Gary Oak returning to take down Moltres the Fire Pokemon! More Pokemon Journeys HYPE is happening!

Pokémon Journeys: The Series is the eighth part of the anime series. It features all of the regions from the main-series games, including the Generation VIII games Pokémon Sword and Shield. This series shares its Japanese name with the original series when the anime first premiered in 1997, and is officially labeled with "2019", the year this series started in, for disambiguation. This new series focuses on the two protagonists Ash Ketchum and Goh, along with their partners Pikachu and Raboot. It also features a young girl named Koharu (Chloe), who has a Yamper, and her father, Professor Sakuragi (Cerise), who runs a laboratory in Vermilion City. It features all the regions that have appeared in the Pokémon games, from Kanto to Galar. Pokémon from each region will also appear.

His new team, even though they are strong, they are not as experienced as the elite 4 and other champion's pokemon. Whereas his pikachu and his old aces (Charizard, Sceptile, Infernape) are experienced. That is why they are needed for world coronation battles.

Yesss my boi is baacccc and my favorite of alll time is infernape this episode was the best episode of journeys even though little disappointing cuz of less infernape except the re animated chimchar - infernape, infernape vs all fires and the electrive vs infernape re animated scenes and those i love it

I think the best part about this episode for the rest of the Journeys series is showing how Ash and Gary are on a whole other level compared to Go, the moment that got me was when Pikachu and Electivire came out to protect Cinderace. It just showed that Go is still a complete rookie compared to Gary and Ash who are pretty much professional trainers.

Infernape did use Flare Blitz, but now its move animation looks just like Flame Wheel; just like they did in SM; which in my opinion always bothered me. They should have kept its move execution animation the same and/or make it similar to like in DP, BW, or XY

@@darknessmage3617 we know that, but if you looked at the animation for Flare Blitz, for this particular episode, Flare Blitz looks a lot like flame wheel. Usually Flare Blitz had a visual of orange to blue Flames covering the user Pokemon, but in that episode it looked like Flame Wheel.

I also hate how Goh had to show off that he caught suicune it not like he earn that catch he took advantage of weaken suicune that other people attacking it. Ash never brags about his pokemon catches to try showing off how good of a trainer he is. Also Goh this try to make it all about him when Ash's Infernape was missing he was only looking for pokemon to catch and not help Ash to find his missing pokemon.

I understand your frustration but do not blame a made up character blame the writers they are the ones in charge and writing the scripts for these characters...tbh Ash or Gary should have caught Moltres disappointed that didn’t happen ..

@@thatgirl9532 Ash will always be the better trainer and character who trains his Pokemon and then they evolve, but Goh doesn't train them and they evolve way to fast in this season It took long time Ash's starter Pokemon to evolve fully and he train them. When it came to Goh it just took 28 episode to get Cinderace and he wasn't train that will and took sobble to evolve 7 episode to evolve to drizzile and he was never trained and when it evolves fully it would still not been trained at all

This episode was so lit (no pun intended) But to those that saw the episode, did you guys notice the Easter egg when Gary and Blastoise showed up after beating Onix that they were playing the Season 1 OST? Also the trial missions for Project Mew sounds like the research tasks for Pokémon Go app game, so we may see those guys from the game make an appearance in the anime. Now all that’s left is to get next version of the opening song to hype us up on returning characters. It’s good that the writing team of the anime gave Project Mew to Goh while Ash is dealing with The World Coronation Series. All that’s left is Articuno but I’m hoping for a future episode where they reference Pokémon Snap with Todd

I literally disappointed on this episode for some reasons 1. Screen time of Ash's old Pokemons are very less. Nothing more than showed in special preview 2. I expected a intense battle btw infernape and moltress or atleast moltress receive some damage from infernape. But blastoise grab more attention than infernape. Writers completely make infernape dirt in this battle. 3. In order to satisfy my first reason, they have to split this episode into two episodes. 4. Gary became a rival to goh. But goh didn't deserve that much potential rival. Overall this episode indirectly focused on goh and did some cheap tricks to hype up the episode Gary vs Goh To catch mew My vote goes to Gary

2. Fax, Infernape legit showed up and got folded. He didn’t even use blaze, he just caused problems with Ash’s other Pokémon at the lad, got folded by a legendary bird, and sat on the sidelines and watched the real fighters do the work. I mean, the whole reason Infernape came there was to fight Moltress, but after getting hit like 3 times, he was like “Yeah, Imma sit this one out. Clearly I was in over my head.”

By far, my favorite episode in the journey's series! Infernape is also my favorite of all pokemon, and I'm very satisfied he made a returning appearance, he is THE BEST!!!!! I sure hope we get to see him again in the future! Better yet, I hope he rejoins ash's team through the Journey's series, he would make a great tag team partner for Ash's Lucario!! XD

Nice to see the return of Ash's Infernape in episode 68 but I was hoping that his Infernape have learn some new moves since it's absent like Close Combat, Blast Burn and Thunder Punch in the battle against Moltres but turns out a very disappointment. I am also disappointed 😒that Ash didn't decided to to swap his recent Pokémon team for his past Pokémon at Professor Oak's lab. I mean some ofAsh's unevolved Pokemon all deserved a chanced to evolved into their final evolved form at last especially those in their middle form like Ash's Bayleef, Quilava, Pignite, Boldore and Palpitoad.

Indeed it is Infamous Trainer! It's nice to see our Alola Pokémon Champion reunite with his old Pokémon! It's been so long since we seen them all! Especially Ash's Infernape, it played a very important role in today's episode, especially with battling Moltres! Honestly I wish Ash's Journeys team would have met his old Pokémon, they would have been great friends with them! The only other Pokémon of Ash's they met was his Alola team, but hopefully his Journeys team will meet the rest of their Pokémon family! Also it's nice to see our Pokémon Champion Ash Ketchum's past adventures from Kanto, Johto and Sinnoh, especially with his old Pokémon and rivals Gary and Paul! They show his past battles during the Johto and Sinnoh Pokémon Leagues! Finally, it's looks like our Pokémon Champion Ash Ketchum and his friend Goh are join a the research project name "Project Mew"! Ash needs to start using old pokemon in journeys even if that means he catches no new mons. That way he can also evolve old ones imagin emboar, serperiot, samurott, floatzel, feraligatr, garchomp, decidueye etc.

@@dromusblack375 generally reappearance of Ash's pokemon in anime do an awesome battle and/or travel with Ash (like Charizard beat Articuno, Sceptile defeating darkrai, Charizard travelling with Ash in Unova, previous season pokemon join in Sinnoh league etc.). But Infernape here didn't beat moltres. It's okay, he could atleast rejoin Ash's team (since he want to become a powerful fire type), he would wanted to join, but the writers didn't made that happen. Then what is the point of bringing back a old pokemon, without giving some attention to them, This is not real fan service to that pokemon...

@@dromusblack375 no, you didn't bring negativity. You are saying about happiness of old pokemons returning. I also loved seeing Ash's Charizard, Bulbasaur etc. also how Gary returns. But here Infernape is shown as he has DREAM(to be most powerful fire type). Still he is left at Oak's lab, instead of joining with Ash, that is what I feel sad about.

Well technically Goh didn’t do anything to steal Ash’s rival plus Ash and Gary are friends now they don’t have the same goals anymore Goh and Gary have the same goals so it made sense for them to become rivals!

Gary showing he still got the moves was Awesome and Goh getting a new goal is interesting BUT I still have 2 nitpicks about this Episode: - One, I too wish to see more of The Sinnoh Boi, Inernape. I feel like I wanted to see more of him battling Moltres. Pointed by others, Infernape should have unleashed Blaze Ability after Moltres used Burn Up since now that it temporarily lost its FIre-typing, Infernape's Fire-type moves could do some STAB-powered neutral damage to it - Two, I wanted to see ALL of Ash's Mons at Prof. Oak's (AND YES! INCLUDING the Unpopuar Ones!) for the sake of The Reunion AND The Consistency I also wanted to add that like you, I wanted after this Episode, Ash decides to do Rotation with his Past AND Present Mons cause now that he's at Hyper Rank, he'll need ALL the help he can get to reach AND THEN beat Leon

Look it was a good episode but it wasn’t amazing. Negatives: 1. They should have made this episode 2 parts we barely saw Ash reconnect with his old Pokémon 2. Gary should have caught Moltres or maybe even Ash and since Moltres escaped like Zapdos just makes Goh look better with his Suicune what a disappointment 3. We barely saw infernape and while I enjoyed the 3 on 1 battle I would have loved for Infernape to take more control and perhaps even learn a new move right there then. 4 . Bayleef let alone Quilava didn’t evolve into their final forms. Also was Gibble there??? 5. There wasn’t a battle between Ash and Gary or Gary and his new rival Goh! Positives: 1. Gary returned and Is obviously a rival to Goh like it just made sense guys! 2. They all battled as a team which I liked 3. We saw Ash’s old Pokémon even if it was for a tiny bit. 4. Gary will no doubt appear in future episodes because of project Mew and we also saw Paul which probably means he’ll appear soon! 5. Even though we barely saw Infernape I’m glad he has been training by himself to get stronger

the episode was okay, but was a letdown. The infernape's plot seemed promising but was antclimatic as the monkey didn't seem to show progress in its training when confronting moltres, and was nearly koed. Even worse, it never activated its blaze ability nor learned movesets. It seems that writers did not want monkey to match up to charizard. Gary's debut was also a letdown, as i expected him to show more of his dominance as a trainer by having blastoise take out moltres. except he got knocked out despite its type advantage and great defence.

To me the battle Infernape against Moltres was not that great only 3 move and it was done for it battle. That was unsatisfying when you think Infernape wouldn't just give up after 3 moves and traveling there to battle Moltres

I wish we saw more of Ash reuniting with his Pokémon and not going Goh bring annoyed with Gary and being an indecisive Brat. Like really what was the point of him not joining Project Mew in the beginning of the episode, though I still really liked this episode. My theory is that Goh will join Projext Mew and every second or third episode we’ll see him working on it. The. Ash will go to Galar, where he will challenge the gyms, catch new Pokémon like Corvinight, Toxtricity and more. It also think if this happens Goh will leave Grookey with Ash, because I just want that to happen

Well if you recall at the beginning of the series, Goh was always more of a loner type of character, doing all the research and analyzation on what legendary Pokémon would appear. It’s also seen in the episode where we meet his parents that he was always alone, except for just Chloe. It wasn’t until he met Ash that he started to get used to other people bit by bit. Also recall when Goh went to Alola with Ash, when left alone with other people, he reverts back into shy loner mode. We forget after seeing Ash for so long, we think every kid is like the crazy extrovert he is, but there are introverts like Goh. So TL:DR Goh didn’t want to join Project Mew because he would be so shy with all those other guys plus he would be without Ash to be the buffer. That and he wants to be the one to catch Mew through his own work alone

I’m not the biggest fan of Goh either but we can’t blame the character but the writers... I think it made super sense for Goh and Gary to have a new rivalry seeing as they have similar goals... Ash and Goh don’t have similar goals plus Gary changed his goals so it made total sense for Goh and Gary to become rivals. I do agree that Grookey should be traded to Ash or it wanting to be with Ash I don’t see Grookey evolving seeing as Cinderace and Sobble have both evolved.

I don’t think Goh is an awful character but his storyline’s aren’t the greatest especially when it came to him catching Suicune fans were and still are angry about that and it’s fair to be. There’s nothing wrong with Goh as a character but just the types of storyline’s he gets is what’s wrong.

Kinda underwhelming. Don't get me wrong it was awesome seeing Ash's old Pokémon again, but the Infernape parts didn't do it for me. The battle with Moltres was way too short, and they had a chance to bring back Infernape permanently as promotion for BDSP but they didn't do it. Also woulda been nicer to get some more Project Mew stuff, especially when I know the next time we're probably gonna hear about is on June 18th, that's almost a month from now, and everything in between is filler and by the title they sound really stupid. Something about Goh and Koharu being over protective of their Pokémon, and something about Morpeko

Should’ve been a 2 parter and wish it wasn’t so focused on Goh like seriously we get enough of him. And ofc 3 ep later we getting the beginning of project mew but for ash coronation battles we have to wait every 5-7 eps it’s very obvious that the writers are favoring Goh. Also the battle between Infernape and MOLTRES was shit sorry. But when I saw Infernape in the new trailer I thought Infernape would actually battle well but no. Also I don’t understand how Lvl 20 Raboot and 30 Flygon can take on Zapados but a lvl 70 Infernape can’t take on MOLTRES like tf. Infernape can easily clap Cinderace and Flygon. Also don’t like how they bring back old companions only to develop Goh like that’s fuckin shit. They make everything bout Goh it’s so annoying like we get it Goh you want to catch mew, you don’t have to mention it every time to waste and hog Screentime. Like first it was the Alola gang now Gary like seriously
