brad lewis he was in a jeep accident while in the military. He flew out into a farmer's field. The farmer left his 8 year old son with Tony while he called for help. Tony wrote Unseen Angels about the boy. Tony broke his back, and has titanium around many vertebrae. He showed me the scar a few years ago....holy crap! It's the entire length of his back. John brought a bass to him to aid in motor skills...and now, wow! I lost my leg last year, and he gave me a big hug, encouraging me to not give up playing guitar. I said I got my chops back, so let's jam!

Hiromi never ceases to amaze me with her dazzling virtuosic displays of sonic diversity through the widest vastest spectrum of styles, technique and even sensibility that I have ever had the great fortune to witness.Regardless of how far and deeply she moves through an impressive range and diversity of musical influences, Hiromi has somehow managhed through sheer genius, to arrange those influences and regardless of how far she spans genres, she never looses her musical center and everything works together so naturally and purposefully that you know her unique insight into the nature and soul of music makes her one of the immortals. Hiromi traverses genres effortlessly emenating a joyous abandon moderated by discipline so profound that for her, release is pure and effortless. Hiromi is a virtuoso even among virtuosos, . Hiromi is not a musician, because she is music, a force of nature and life who exemplifies what it is to be human

Don't Franklin.:Great way to put it.Some of these other guys got the gall to elevate her above keyboard pioneers who broke musical group long before she was born. She's great,I love her but don't make her out to be head & shoulders above her predecessors. That's downright disrespectful. @@Crezelltree4261 This is a great point that I both agree and "disagree" with periodically (hear me out). In this specific case, I think that Hiromi makes the better music. What I mean isn't that she's a greater pioneer (I don't think she is), but the end product is in academic terms "so fucking good". As for disrespect, what I *think* that you mean is that history and innovation is important and you better not disregard that, and I agree that's very important, but I think this is a misunderstanding of what you and "them" are saying. Great point, anyway, and it needed to be said.

dmmjq2 Seeing the original Mahavishnu Orchestra live turned me on to fusion forty-three ago. But I eventually began to tire of what later passed for fusion. And then I discovered Hiromi, and the passion is there again. She and her groups Sonicbloom and the Trio Project have, indeed, "revitalized" the genre and brought me untold hours of delight and joy. And they're clearly doing the same for countless other people throughout the world. We are blessed!
