In chapter 4 of the epic saga of the salmon, a massive storm has raised the creek to a raging torrent and Lake Tahoe's kokanee salmon embark on an amazing quest to reach the spawning grounds.

Such an awesome series of videos! This should be on PBS or some other educational channel! But awesome work filming and getting in touch with Fish and Wildlife to clear the beaver dam, your the Man JD!

Amazing series. Was just up here this weekend and was amazed to see some big browns. Must have followed them all the way up from the lake.

One of the interesting things about the route the salmon take up the rivers or streams is... They show you exactly where gold has settled below. As long as the stream has a history of gold in it. Follow the salmon line and you will find color!

They have one but it’s been closed for years…US Fish & Wildlife Service doesn’t want anything swimming outta Tahoe and into Fallen Leaf Lake because they have been trying to reestablish Lahontan cutthroat there (which has largely failed by the way).

Thanks...yeah pretty awesome what Ma Nature can do when you give her a few basics (like water!). The thumbnail is actually a photo I shot and then ran it through some filers on my phone.
