Another trip to Cache Creek, this time in late July of 2022.

Need to do a bit of homework. Miller table is used for actual fines. 50- and finer is the norm on Miller table. Also instead of using a card and pulling it down, use small brush and pull up to top of table and manipulate left/right with brush to get separation. It does work well on fines and you've got the right idea for sure. You'll figure it all out I'm sure. Every piece of equipment requires time to learn no matter how long a person has been prospecting/mining. ✌️😎

Dang I live in Colorado too and gold panning Astro and super bright flashlights are my exact hobbies lol. Do you also happen to play the bass guitar and are ya an engineer by chance?

Man good job I knew you where in the gray lead layer down deep round stones Really good spot. Go back and run about ten plus buckets and I would bet you would get gram to two grams easily. Heavy pans.

Yes they use a brush in that video. Others tend to use the card that comes with the kit. Either way can work. The critical step is ensuring that the table is at the correct angle and you have proper flow rate. Still, I tended to get better results using the cleanup panning methods that Dan Hurd demonstrates on his channel (highly recommended). It may be slower than the machine, but it definitely works and I did not lose any gold with that process.

@@danielparrott1833 you using the table wrong in many ways 1. never put so much material at one spot its higher than the waterflow/level. This way the waterflow gets way to uneven. spread the material more out 2. the water was not in perfect angle and the flow to low to work the material 3. understand the royla video and use the paint brush. its to lose up the matrial and not concentrate even more with the card. 4. use the full wideness of the table

Yes, just be sure not to overdo it. I once took some course grit sandpaper to some of my pans to season them and wound up with really deep grooves that allowed the fine gold to get stuck :( So I had to buy new pans which are what I used in this video. You might not be able to see it but they are seasoned (lightly), having used fine grit sandpaper this time around. Besides that, after enough panning with rocky material the pans will eventually become seasoned from use.
