Another point about the faux dragons of Cathay, the children of the dragon emperor look down upon the typical dragons of the west when they allow themselves to be ridden by mortals, meaning they would likely look down upon Imrik's talent of dragon taming. Food for thought!

One reason (and my vote) to ally with Cathay is that imrik would hear rumors of the dragon emperors, but wouldn’t have confirmation. So he would most likely send delicates and spies to try to get a positive id on the dragons before going on a rampage.

Would be cool to see an alliance with Ogre's, Lizardmen, Tomb Kings and Cathay. A more unique alliance you would usually see between factions of Order and Neutrals. Also name suggestion for the Dragon Princes: Imrik's Spear (They keep breaking trough the enemy's forces like a spear with him)

I think it's funny when you engage in diplomacy with Imrik, he says something like "What have I done to deserve discourse with one so lowly?!" as if even speaking to him is regarded as an insult.

So many rats slain. Imrik and his elves really don't mess around. And with the confederation with Caledor will allow for the unification of Ulthuan to begin, netting you potentially 3 powerful Legendary Lords ripe for confederation. I would recommend Tyrion first as he's the closest and will give you a powerful infantry lord to help unite Ulthuan before moving on to Alarielle and Batman.

The special dragon events don't have to be fought immediately when you choose the Challenge the Dragon option, it just adds a quest battle to you quest log. The temporary buff options can be nice but I don't think they are worth delaying the collection of all the dragons and the hassle of having to move lords or heroes around to the map markers the extra times.

i am inthe middle of playing an Imrik run and using your video as a guide and 3 full rat stacks jumped me at darkhold, needless to say mikaela and the dragon had a blast each getting nearly 1k kills and 80k damage haha

Making allies of the Karaz-a-Karak and Karak Kadrin dwarfs makes sense, since it will allow you to push towards Nehekara and deal with the entirely different set of factions compared to the Kislev campaign. Heck, you might get to kill the Hated Prospectors yourself if you are fast enough. Karak Azul and Thorek are fair game if they get uppity with you, and grabbing the Dragon Isles before\as you push west would be a nice sideshow.

If you challenge the dragon it gives you a quest battle but you don’t have to do it then - it just comes up as a quest

One thing I’ve never understood about SFO is why they make Cavalry Bane a contact effect rather than a close proximity passive like Snare nets and similar. It would actually make the ability good for limiting the effectiveness of cavalry charges.

If SFO increases unit HP and troop counts then yes, you'll end up using alot more ammunition than Vanilla especially if base ammunition wasn't increased by SFO mod team.

I say at least ally a faction with good artillery, because the most the elf’s have are the bolt throwers which are ok but for a faction based on dragons and fire you need to get some stuff that goes boom boom with fire.

I once wrote a short story about a dragon that lived and fought through the ages alongside the Asur and it would be swell to see her in your campaign. I named her Yadnir.
