I can die with no regrets now. The Secret is that Monkey Island was just a really fantastic video game, even the "lesser" ones are still some of my favorite games ever.

Played it on PC. If you played the other M.I. games this is a must play. It transported me back to my childhood being in this world again, then made me tear up when I beat it and it brought me back to present day, and said goodbye

I'm glad Return to Monkey Island was enjoyable for Felix who'd never played the earlier ones - I grew up on this series since the 90s and the plot points of the first few are second nature. Lucasfilm Games definitely missed a chance to port over the Special Editions of 1 and 2, that would've been a great bundle experience.

I gotta stand up for Curse of Monkey Island here. One of my favorite games of all time that absolutely captured the spirit of the first two, even without Ron Gilbert. Plus it looked, and especially sounded, fantastic.

First Monkey Island I have played. A 10/10 game.

Hello fellow chum. This game ticks so many boxes, funny, witty, whimsical, decent puzzles, so many call backs and in jokes. Two difficulty levels. Only gripe is that once you leave 7 trivia cards unanswered, they stop spawning.

Is it any good? Yes. And I strongly urge people to play the other Monkey Island games too. (Or at least, the first three)

Can't wait to play it. Monkey island on An Amiga was one of the first games I ever played. I just hope we get a physical release. Or even an upto date re release of the first 2.

I thought Felix was being mean about Escape and Tales when he said "Oh and there are two OTHER games..." until the end he revealed he'd never played Monkey Island before 😅

I grew up with Curse and Escape, I later played Secret and 2 when I was much older. Love this game so much, I really hope they make more and point and clicks come back in force. Also I think Escape needs a re-do.

Ahhh so many memories. I was playing this on my Pc 386 when you’re still giving commands in dos and lunching manually exe files. It had a physical wheel to that you had to make combinations of different skulls and with the password that you obtained you’re granted to enter the game (it was a way to check if you had the original version and not a pirate one). I’m going to get this 100% 🎉

This game is kinda ugly. So sad how the charm of older games doesn't exist anymore

I first played Monkey Island when the special edition came out on Xbox 360 and I fell in love with it. Played the Special Edition of Lechuck's Revenge, Curse of Monkey Island and Tales of Monkey Island and loved them too. Never finished Escape From Monkey Island though. Love the series and had a blast with Return to Monkey Island. Really glad the series got another game.

Hope you enjoy going through the old ones. 1 and 2 are classics (2 being one of my favourite games of all time), 3 is also a classic though you can tell the team and direction changed a lot and it's a slight notch below.

Regarding the hint system , The Tex Murphy Adventure games in the 90's onn PC did this before , highly recommended stuff !!!

Onlyy played curse of monkey island but I loved it and it reminds me of my childhood, I am kinda biased liking curse animation more than return to MI

I finished it, With the extra puzzles And extra gibberish And I loved (almost) every second of it. The last puzzle screw up my pacing, so I used the hints there🤣

Game is fantastic as me growing up completing the first 2. Mega monkey mode on second on the amiga as well. I don't like the addition of the tip book i didn't use it that's just a way to ruin the game. It took me 18 hours to complete the game on hard mode finding all trivia cards on the pc the pc version is slightly different on certain puzzles. He needs to make more I never played past the 3rd monkey island as they are garbage

On the quality settings - Probably an artifact of being developed for PC then ported to Switch, but also Switch games tens to have different settings for performance for Docked, unlocked modes, and now we have Lite, Standard, and OLED editions.

Secret of the Monkey Island and LeChuck’s Revenge were among the best “point & click” adventure games ever created (side by side with Maniac Mansion and Zack McKraken and the Alien Mindbenders)… I LOVED THEM ALL! And I really hope that this new (old) Return to Monkey Island is INDEED a very good game, BUT GOOD LORD! IHATE this art style!!! Sorry folks, if you are not with me in this, but I find it AWFULLY AWFUL!

Art style looks a lot like from Psychonauts series. The second game is amazing! Give it a try, it's only on PlayStation and Xbox though.

I really don't like the art style. Reminds me of these horrible cheap cartoons for kids on cartoon network or something like that. Really want to play it, but the art style is just not appealing. Computer generated "drawings". No thanks.
