I’ll never get tired of the deer in the woodyard. They’re beautiful.

In 1984 my dad built a water stove well you all up there call them boilers . But that was the best thing I had ever seen . We live in rural farm country NC . I never minded keeping that thing feed . House always warm endless hot water . At some point I am going to do some videos on the wood splitters of that era .

I remember the winters when I grew up in Indiana (don't miss them). I enjoy the weather now in MS. Stay safe.

It's incredible how close the deer get. I think you have the right idea using the lean to in the ravine to store wood, great use of space!

It is crazy with the deer, and they don't care what I'm doing...lol...if I fire up the saw they don't even care....haha

Note to self don’t go away on winter when having a out door wood boiler, also if you had a lot more of those totes at least you can stack them up. Also do you ever get some corn feed for those deer.
@Back40Firewood2 ай бұрын
Well if you do have to go away for a few days, just remember to have enough wood lined up and ready for whoever is going to fill while you're gone.

Hi Dan Great Video and Talking about How Much Snow you Got and How Much Would you Need to Replace the Wood you Ran out of After you left 😃Many years ago I Was Talking to a Coworker At My Night job and He New I Made Firewood in the Daytime and He Was Talking about How Much Wood He Burns a Day He said a Cord a Month He would Heat his house and the Way he did it Was like a Coal Shoot But instead of Coal He Was feeding it with Firewood 👍 on a Caver Shoot 👍 That Way He He could Drive His Tractor Trailer in the Daytime and Make His Deliveries 👍 I think He Was from Lancaster PA But His unit Was Built in the Basement Maybe the Next time you Split your Dry Rounds use the 37 D and Bring it Closer to your Furnace and Put a Toet Nearby and fill it Up and Cover it Up and use it When you Need it 👍

I got over 200 totes, and don’t even own a firewood business 😁. It’s all part of the planning, though. I do have a SuperSplit that’s still on the pallet. Just have to give it some time to get the process going.

I've been thinking of adding more totes, but then I look at the going price for them and change my mind....lol

@@Back40Firewood do a google search of “bulk fluid delivery near me.” There are companies that deliver automotive fluids in bulk to local companies in the area. If you can find one,…I would suggest to just show up and ask to speak to the manager about buying or “disposing” of some of the empty ones for them. If they’ll give them to you,…great. If they’ll sell them,…then that’s ok as well. Just offer $10-$15 per tote. Tell them that you’ll buy them in bulk if they’ll sell the ones that contained antifreeze to you. They might become intrigued by it if you tell them that you own a firewood company,…and need a better method of storage. Then they won’t think that you’re just trying flip IBC totes on the side. The ones that contained oil can be messy to consolidate vs the ones with antifreeze. So, try and avoid those if you can. I suggest this advice to everyone. Anyways,…give it a shot and let us know what happened.

If we turn our heat down to 50°, we can have someone fill the stove every other day. We have them turn the heat up the day we are supposed to return. Deer are crazy close.

Yes, I know what you mean Dan. Running out of Wood is know fun at all. I try to keep ahead of it and it's a good thing That I did, because with this Weather here in NY, looks like it's going to be a few more weeks till it might be getting a little Warmer. See you tomorrow on Friday NIGHT Live. Sure do enjoy Chatting with everyone. I am going to start cutting a little on Monday of Next Week. Ron from the Woodyard in Duanesburg NY.

Yeah running low or out is never any fun, and remembering you forgot to take wood in when you're a few hours from isn't either...hahaha. Hope the weather warms up for you next week to be out and enjoy your time in the woodyard.

Not good for the maple trees. I drove by the other day and the deer were chilling like Hank hill and the gang on the street.

Dan, they make rain gear, you could of filled the totes yesterday in the rain instead of talking about how crappy of a day it was, you wouldn't be out of wood today.
