I had an Motorbike accident 2 months ago and I remembered watching you when I was younger (around 2015) when I was 11. I cried a lot throughout the video, because I could relate to a lot of thing and I am still crying right now. I love your mind set and you are a big Idol for me specifically right now after my accident. The fact that you never stopped grinding left me thinking to never give up my passion and my career. I know that strange feeling of returning to the crash site. years ago I had a bike crash down a mountain. Shattered my helmet and my torso, and collapsed a lung amongst other damages. It took a few years, but I eventually rode back to that spot. It felt like such an accomplishment. Thanks for sharing this accomplishment (walking around the spot) with us. FYI I started with bmx and switched to endurance road riding thinking it would be safer...... Spandex has no padding. The hospital still shows kids my shattered helmet to show the importance of safety first.

You know, I'm pretty amazed at how your sponsors have stuck with you through all of this. Really cool of them, so credit where credit is due. I'm glad you can find a way to have such a positive outlook through all this buddy.

Scotty's mindset is incredible. It's something we can all learn from and become better people because of it. What a unique person.

There’s one specific part of this video that caught my attention. Scotty said that he will never be able to ride his bike like he used to. I almost have my major in sports medicine and just want to say that it is actually possible he could get back to riding like he used to. He is improving at an incredible rate and his body will continue to get better through PT. He might not have full mobility back, it could get close. It defiantly won’t be easy and it will take dedication and time, but it is possible. I’ve seen a couple cases where an athlete was in the same state as Scotty and got back to basically how they were beforehand. Don’t get me wrong, it is extremely rare, but I think Scotty has what it takes just from seeing how far along in progress he’s made already. He’s riding bikes not even a year after the injury. Not only that, but a couple months after he got of the hospital, and even less time since he stopped using a wheelchair. I have a strong feeling that he can get back to how he was, and if not, then extremely close. With the amount of dedication Scotty has and his strong mindset/never give up attitude, I have total confidence that he can do it🙏🏼❤️

Every day you do a little bit more to inspire us. I'm continually blown away by how forthcoming you've been about everything, and how you've hung your ego on the door throughout this whole process. Thanks man.

This is why helmets are important, notice how many crashes, falls, accidents Scotty has been thru. How many risky tricks he's done and how many huge airs he has had etc... and the crash that took him out was one that was just unexpected, not doing anything risky or over the top, just casual riding and he hit a hole and went OTB. You never know when or where a crash will happen, thats why you should always be prepared and riding safe with your helmet on at all time.

Absolutely insane that out of all the crazy things I've seen you do that it was a pot hole that changed everything, hard to fathom. Scotty you were a brain surgeon in your own right on a bike. Serious, intricate, precision and discipline, and a style that very few could even compare, a dying breed. I'm 40 now and the days of skating and biking are but a faint memory anymore. Even though I did it for a decade and it was my church. It now all seems so faint and but a chapter in my book of life. I wish nothing but the best for you and a long happy life of memories and babies. New hobbies will replace old ones and soon you will find enjoyment watching your kids experience the things you loved so dearly. Cheers and be well!
