Your hair is so beautiful 😍 In the Caribbean we use a plant to make our own locking gel. We call it clammy cherry or clamon cherry, (we mix it with a little water to create the gel) The plant is scientifically known as Cordia Obliqua. If you ever get your hands on some your retwist would last a month plus depending on your hair texture. 🥰it's also a really good edge control.

You might like the blue lock booster. It's a bit lighter and dries completely clear and to me the hold is much nicer. It's closer to the edge booster consistency without the white residue.

I use lock booster as well (the rose scent) but it’s really light for me. I also think I have coarser hair than you so that could be why lol but I love that gel because it’s a little lighter than the African pride one I use sometimes and it smells so soft and fragrant. That gel makes my retwist last for a little over a month and it feels really moisturizing. Even with new growth, my retwist remains in tact.

I love the product too. It is only slightly heavy imo. I feel like they could take a little bit of the grease from it. Also, it's a bit sticky. My former braider uses this for my knotless braids. My braids would stay neat, even within the scalp. They would look fresh for several weeks. So, when I braid my natural hair into single braids, I use this as well. It gives them body and when I take them out for a braid out. OMG! Way better results vs Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing creme. It's definitely top of my list for in store products.

Careful not to overuse the product because it causes build up and makes the locs heavy. If you wanna keep your roots strong I advise twisting roots only every 3 months or more. Your roots will thank you especially since your bottom is heavier than the top.

Awesome, awesome job I need to do a self retwist. My locs are smaller. Can you make a suggestion. What product to use, and if you don't have the clips or the wrapping paper you used at the end to put around the edge of your hair.

Love this! I’m going to try the styler I’m also going to try the mousse and wraps. Do u have links for those? I’m also going to try to do my hair on dryer hair next time. Do u have a wash routine for when u wash it and dry it before twisting?

Just curious because I’m getting ready to start my loc journey. I noticed that you don’t retwist all the way down to the ends. Is there a reason you do not?

It’s not necessary, especially after the loc has matured…your just putting unnecessary stress on specific strands of hair.

I only retwist my roots and I've been doing that since the beginning when I started my locs
