You should try going row by row starting from the back using a comb to help and put the loose hair in the loc. Also use the hand held mirror and have another mirror to look at while you use the hand held mirror facing you so you can really see the back. Thats what i do and it really helps

How twist the back of my hair is I take that mirror and I put a piece of string at the end and take that string and hang it at the top of the door enough to where I can see the mirror that’s in front of me. I hope you get the picture..

I retwist my own. On my loc anniversary i treat them to a professional retwist and style. My back is suspicious but it feels neat when I'm done, so I go with it lol. I've been locked 5.5 years. I started them on my own with 2 strand twists and maintained all on my own for 3 years.

Retwisting the back of my head is so stressful. I had a thought that it would get easier the longer they get back there, but sis you are scaring me lol.

Okay so you and I have the same situation it's chaotic trying to waste my locks on my own but I have been maintaining them for so long and my hair is 7 years locked and so with the back you know I mean I keep most of my nails I use my fingernails as a guide and I would look in the mirror like you did just try and see if my parts were even but now I'm good at it now where I can make them neat in the back and as for my kitchen I take my scissors and I trim the back because I'm like yeah most people are not going to be like oh my goodness what did you do to the back of your hair you know they're not going to really notice it so it's like all right so to answer your question use a barber comb if you have one or you can buy one and it also I mean it doesn't really matter after you know they're mature and everything in the first stage is yes it would matter but in the longer stages you don't really have to worry about this method which is I like to twist to the right do keep practicing and you'll get it i guarantee and it would take me 6days when i first started maintaining them myself so now i can complete the wash retwisting and simple style in 2 days maybe 3 I take alot of beeaks😂.
