I was the nanny to a sweet little guy. It became a situation where I needed to step in A LOT. A lot happened but when he was 6 our contact was cut. He’ll be 28 in June. Around 2016 I got a message from him. He remembers me. Some things are fuzzy but he remembers Disneyland and going shopping at target and I’d allow him to lay flat on the shelf like thing underneath the shopping cart. People would giggle when they’d see his feet hanging on the back. He told me that he loves me and that I helped him during a tough time. He ended up being adopted. I was there up until a few years after the adoption.

Kids who age out often have no family in their adult life. If your foster son is open and receptive, it’s not too late to pull him back into the family. You can even adopt an adult if you fostered them as a child;)

I was in foster care and was able to talk with my foster parents after 30 years. I think of them as an aunt and uncle. They are very special to me! I'm very thankful for the care they gave me!

So sweet. I can imagine it feels good to reconnect with people who see you as family. I know when I reconnect with people I saw as family, I feel at peace.

I was adopted by a nightmare of a family ..they divorced when i was 4 and i started boarding school at 11 but from 6 to 11 i had the most amazing woman raising me ..the adopted mother considered her ""the cleaning lady "" but to me she was the first mother i had ever known in life ! Once i went to boarding school i didnt see her anymore ..after all according to my adopters she was just the cleaning lady .. once i started having kids i did find her and treated her with love and kindness and to my kids she was nana 💕 in hind sight i wish i had included her more in my life .. she never had kids of her own so basicly the kids she cared for were her kids .. i hope your ""son"" does keep in touch with you and feels comfy and loved by you all !

I'm so glad you were able to have this reunion, and I hope you're able to keep in touch! The kids seemed so thrilled to reconnect with him as well. I can't imagine the difficulty of wanting to stay connected, but not being able to, I know that would have been a huge struggle for me. It's impressive that you didn't let it get you down. When my kids were little, we had a dog that got carsick. He would actually vomit every time we drove anywhere with him. So you're lucky she's only reluctant to get in!!

Best video to date!! We just closed our license. We still have contact with one of our last placements, we had them for 18 months and I was their preschool teacher. They are 8 now. Have great relationship with mom and so grateful we still have relationship. They were just here for Easter and spring break! Going on vacation in June with us! Oh they are twin girls!! ❤

Love this for you guy's. Distance and being apart would be hard for aĺl. Memories are made with the gorgeous children that come to you guy's are placed with you guy's for a reason. The ❤ and support given to all your children is something that I would of loved to have had in my life. I say the word love to all that come or are a part of my life. My daughter is my whole world, my heart and soul. She's my greatest accomplishment, and I'm her whole support system as a special needs Mum. Crystal and Aaron keep doing what you're doing, giving ❤to those who need it and accepting that you are always are their for them. Gee Crystel and Aaron it breaks my heart how this children age out the seemet how it breaks .my heart u didnt get to adopt this one speacial child This breaks my heart how he found out that grandma passed away How she and grandpa truley loved him dearly It melts my heart how the kids see him as a brother😢 Why cant we as people do more for this kids that age out foster care😢 it makes me want to cry How i wished when i was young i could have more kids but know im passed a sert age Im to old to have anymore 😢 But makes me mad how people treat there kids and dont want them anymore How u Aaron love each everyone of your kids know matter what the sert thing is thay know there love

Crystal I love the fact that you want to keep a connection with your foster kids! I was in foster care when I was 6 months old to 19 months old and I know I had a good connection with my foster mom and she wanted to adopt me, but my birth Mom wanted a younger mom and dad who were married and ECT so I ended up getting adopted into a great family. However I always wanted to meet my foster mom. So I think it's awesome that you and Aaron are open to keeping up with them!! Thank you for giving these awesome kids an amazing new life!! ❤❤

My older sister did foster care through her home. Like the old saying goes it takes a village to raise a child. Our whole family was involved in raising the foster kids

It's gotta be hard on the kids that go back to their family or parents especially who don't want the child to have contact with you. I would be so grateful towards foster parents for being their for their child when they couldn't be.❤ omgosh that place you took Rylan to looks awesome! Those dough cones with ice cream look yummy 😋

My sister and I were in foster care for 8 yrs . The last home we were in for 3 yrs , and remained in relationship for the next 21 yrs . Then our aunt disowned us and told lies about me to my last foster parents . My sister took her life 8 months ago and saw my foster parents for the first time since my highschool graduation. Im heart broken that it took tragically loosing my sister to suicide 8 months ago for my foster parents to check in on me , to reach out and tell me she loves me but immgrateful that this relationship is finally being mended

Try a car seat where the dog is elevated and ca. See out the window. It might help with tge carsickness. Also the security of being in a confined seat might help her with going in the car.

My 2 youngest kids were taken from us(because of my ex-in-laws neglect) and were put up for adoption and they were told that they were taken because of drugs and that is the absolute farthest from the truth I LOATHE any illegal drugs I don’t even allow them in my home….my oldest daughter was put into the system when she was 15(100% my fault, her being put in the system was the best thing for her)she aged out of the system, her being put into the system brought her and I closer together and put her on a much better path in life, because she was on a self destructive trajectory and was headed toward a life of drug addiction and I wasn’t able to stop it, now she is a 29yr old mother if 6, married to an amazing man, she has gone from a life of poverty to a semi-affluent life thanks to her husband being an electrician

That’s so funny, in the ice cream place Aurora was saying you bite the apple juice bottle because there was a Tik Tok trend where there are some shaped like that where if you bite it it sounds like biting an apple. I know they were in Target at one point.

My husband and myself tried to foster to eventually adopt and basically we got denied because I am in a wheelchair. The social worker never openly said it but the action spoke more then words

That chimney cake is called Trdelnik in Czech Rep and Slovakia, and in Hungary it's called Kürtőskalács. My fave flavor is rolled in cinnamon sugar with pistachio filling and ice cream and whip cream! 😋

If a kid goes back to bio family and later down the line ends up needing to go back into the foster care system do they reach out to you (as the previous foster family) first to be placed with you again due to familiarity?
