I’m Fern! A 20-something gal living on beautiful Vancouver Island, Canada with my partner, our 2 dogs, and around 200 houseplants. Plants have changed my life - I love tending to them and sharing the joys and discoveries of my planty journey online. I love your thoughts on how the more common and cheaper plants almost seem rare these days because they aren’t showcased anymore. I will never stop appreciating and adoring my $5 grocery store plants 🪴

Totally! I have some 'fancy' plants but my all time favourite is my pothos i got for $3 two years ago. That things just grows and grows!!

Yes, two more of those videos so good and I have a cast-iron plant to you. Don’t see too many people with cast-iron plans. Mine is also the Milky Way version. They are just so easy I love them.

Another lovely video, thank you Fern ❤️ Still uncomfortable and trying to wrap my head around the fact that jade pothos wasn’t watered for months and still looks that good... 😳 what a trooper! Loved this video and seeing which plants you came back to. Glad Shane was able to care so well for most of them lol, i hope you are feeling better and things are slowing down a bit for you since the move is over and you can just focus on being a full time planty lady 💚💚💚

I have a golden pothos that I pretty much forgot about from April 2020 till November 2020 lol 😆 since I have started paying attention and caring for the pothos it has put out so many new leaves.

That euphorbia is absolutely stunning!! One of my favorite things about growing plants is really just seeing how much they grow and change over the years💕 I just inherited this GIANT monstera and snake plant that is roughly 18-20yrs from a relative that passed. The monstera is this huge vining plant that just has tons of tendrils going down into it's pot because eventually it lost its original supporting stem from being hung up for so many years and that's how it lives now😅🌱(its never been repotted so thats the plan this season). The snake plant is nearly as tall as me (I'm 5'2) and easily one of my favorite beasts! I had just repotted this snakie boy for the first time in it's entire life into a bigger pot and it was a TASK trying to wash off the SAND it had been living in!?? Anyways my point is plants are unsuspecting and easily one of the most interesting things to watch grow even in the weirdest conditions❤

OMG I LOVE THE GIANT STARFISH!!!!! I have a small one that just put out a new arm, and I’m in love. I can’t wait until it grows SOOOO BIG. Mine doesn’t have any pups yet either, and mine also struggles with being top heave even though it’s not very big..

I totaly get that love for common plants. I recently got into Dieffenbachia and Aglaonema. And OOOOH MY GOD are they pretty and awesome and they have so much variety and shining foliage. It is so sad that the common and "cheap" plants are not so much shown these days. So I loved your thoughts on that topic. We need to show them more. Also I am totaly in love with my ficus it grows so well now that I have transplanted it to Pon and gives me so much love back. The video of taming the Monstera would be very cool to watch! Awesome idea doing the old houseplant haul. As always thank you for your great content

I saw that your snake plant had one long stem shooting out. My snake plant in a 10" pot is so weird looking, healthy but 4 of her leaves are about 3X the length of all the others!!! Do you know why this would happen? Makes her unique but still wonder how this happened. Love your 🌿 videos!

When the bird of paradise gets too tall, can you cut it back? It looks super healthy, I bet it would sprout a new growth point and then it would take another year or two to get back to ceiling height? I dunno if you could propagate the tip or not but I bet the base would keep on truckin.

My agave filifera looks the same, the bottom "leaves" always seem to brown and die off but it has new growth so maybe it's fine. Like an alocasia.
