Audio issues have been fixed in this re-upload. I delisted the original upload instead of deleting it.
The Hunchback of Notre Dame is one of my favorite Disney movies, in part because Frollo is such a realistic villain and the plot of the movie around him is one of the most realistic that Disney has done.
This rendition of the song I actually find better than the original, several things Voiceplay does accentuate the themes of the song and what it represents for Frollo's character.

yo lets go! I love Voice Play cool to see you reacting to them. I never watched Hunchback as a kid but I did see it like around 2016. 90s Disney was on some other level shit.

I thought it was interesting that Geoff's character was created out of the other 3 singers that were each a portion of Frolo's psyche. J None was asking Maria for protection, Eli was the 2 sides of what Frolo is - either be with him or burn, Cesar was looking for reasons that it is not his fault avoiding blame. It was a very excellent analysis. Try out In The Air Tonight (Phil Collins cover).

First time learning about Voiceplay. Sounds really interesting, my only exposure to acapella is McCool (the video game acapella dude). I haven't seen Hunchback for a minute, but Frollo creeped me out as a kid. I couldn't get past watching the last quarter of the movie so I never knew what happened. It is crazy that they did that in a Disney movie. I have to agree that Frollo is probably the most messed up Disney villain.

There is never anything accidental in a Voiceplay cover. The jewelry was all chosen, probably by Layne because it was his arrangement and production. Geoff has a way of humanizing his characters. The first time I realized that he was an actor was in his solo cover of Ain't No Sunshine; the heartbreak was palpable. Anytime you do reactions to Voiceplay or Geoff, I will be here. Layne has a production company with Tony Wakim, former VP baritone called PattyCake Productions. They produce original music and videos. My favorite is a piece call Bump in the Night. It was done in 2020 when cities halted trick or treating. It's about the ghosts and goblins reaction to having no one to frighten, with a Michael Jackson Beat It vibe.

Thanks for uploading a new version with better sound. Sorry some people were jerks about it. Layne did this arrangement. It’s usually Geoff and Layne that do the arrangements but Eli has done a couple and they were fantastic. They are all just so talented and this arrangement and performance was genius and epic! Glad you like it! ❤

Geoff has also said that he didn't think the song was worth doing either, but I guess Layne's arrangement convinced him to do it. Layne doesn't usually take no for an answer apparently. If Geoff complains about a difficult part Layne will just say "do it". And he does. :) Proving that sometimes he needs a push to go beyond what he thinks he can do.

Thank you for re uploading. Everything was much clearer. Your comments were useful as I've never seen the film, and so it gave me more of an understanding of the character.

Hunchback was the only movie I could not watch when I was a child, Frollo was too intense. I never watched the entire thing until this came out and I became curious. I appreciate your constrast of the different representations Frollo's character.

Yes, Cesar was added to be a baritone but he can also sing tenor so they label him as a bari-tenor 😅
