I think current maps have gotten too big, the closeness of the original WAW maps were more close quaters and that's what made it easy to transform them into zombies maps

I think with the recent zombie games/maps, the main reason why these maps are missing that "zombified" atmosphere is just the lack of time they are given to make things, plus with their resources being limited and split up. Treyarch are always spread thin, working on Ranked Play, Cold War, Vanguard zombies, MWZ, Gulf War, and future titles. Hopefully with them leaving MWZ they can work more on Gulf War, and I hope they can find someone else to work on CoD 2025 or just straight up cancel CoD 2025.

These zombie maps that are reused maps from MP made it feel different from the original concept. For me, I can barely tell or notice if they were from MP. I think after BO4 the maps became noticeable from MP.

Whats crazier about cold war is that the campaign was made by raven software. They made the areas, recorded the voice lines, and wrote of the story. But treyarch did multiplayer and zombies. Aside from die maschine, treyarch used assets that raven made in the campaign to build their maps around. Fire base z being a bit of an exception because itbwas only thebspawn area that they used. But mauer der toten and the forsaken were missions that raven software developed.

Shangri La is literally any Laos mission, most notably Charlie Foxtrot and Payback. And its MP counter is Jungle and Crisis

If Gulf Ball War has a single bo2 or bo1 zombies remaster in it I’m getting it. I’ve waited too long for a mob of the dead and call of the dead remaster

I don't remember which one, but one of the CW maps literally copied and pasted areas from IW's Shaolin Shuffle. Very few people seemed to notice this (probably because how unsuccessful Shaolin Shuffle was)

I miss the BO3 gameplay, and the BO4 maps.

Originally zombies was made by one dev as a little side project and he snuck it into the game last minute

Kino was more than just assets it's very similar to the like second last or last mission from WAW campaign when raiding the Reichstag you have a very theater esc look to the interior of the Reichstag then the outside are assets from BO1s campaign but the primary level is basically the Reichstag from waw

the house where pack a punch is in gorod krovi is reused from the bo3 campaign

In the windows to the left of spawning right away on the map Der Rise. It looks like theres the numbers 79 then the next window says 52, the bottom window im not sure if you need to go back up the stairs to the PAP, teleportion area to see. But i looked up 7952 location giant, and its a mountain in france. Not sure if im right though. I just looked for it from this video. Ill have to go in game, or someone else does. Or does anyone know what the windows say high to the left of the clock when you firat spawn in? Above where the extra perk machine would be on the giant when you use the helmet to melt the snow. On the giant i don't think the windows spell anything unless its a code. Does anyone else see the numbers in the windows on Der Rise?

Cold War brought in the red healthbars, and yellow text all over the screen for every zombie, and kill. It looks so trash. We know we killed the zombies, they have a big blood splash, and they drop. I know there a game under all that crap, but it takes you right out of the game! 3arch, take that crap off the sceen. We like it for multiple player, but not for zombies! We kill hundreds of them and the screen is just covered in red bars, and yellow text! It looks like shit, takes you out of the experience, and we can see them drop, and our points fo up, we don't need all that crap! Theres great art under all those redbars, text, and crap! Fix your game please! We all miss round based, and no highlighted parts please! We will find them, and feel good when we find them!
