I like to think of it as the islands Kappn takes us too, so whenever I see them im like, oh that might be the vine and glowing moss island back there :))

I think they’re other players’ islands so I see them and think “maybe one of those is [insert friend’s name’s island]!”

Those islands are at a fixed distance away from the player Let's say that they are 100 miles out if you travel 50 miles out those islands will still be 100 miles out They move away from the player as the player is moving making it look like they are fixed in place however they are moving further back as you swim towards them

they're actually fixed to the sky background, that's why you can see them "underneath" the island when you're on a modded island with transparent tiles.

One question that is unrelated to this, When you visit the Able sisters, do u talk to Sable everyday? If u don't defenitely start doing it because even though she seems busy, if u talk to her enough, you can really benefit from it in around a month

Omg I hit a jackpot why you may ask? So I received good fortune from Katrina just before heading out on a kap n boat tour and he took me to a Cherry blossom island! That stuff is like one in a million chances so I stocked up on those bad boys because I couldn’t just leave the island without the cherry blossom petals

I actually never really wondered about this, as I figured they were probably just part of the skybox, like the hell valley skytrees in Mario galaxy. Which would mean that you would seemingly never get closer.
