My Dad (who is a former United States Marine and lost his left arm in Afghanistan) barged into my room with a bugle he found in the basement and played these tunes. At six in the morning.

Its 7.45 and my Son is not awake. Last night he told me he was thinking of joining the army. I'm playing it loud outside his room now.

My stepdad (Vietnam) use to play this every morning when I was growing up and 30 years later as a mom I play this for my kids which drives them crazy lol

This was oddly nostalgic for me, when I was a kid I lived pretty close to a military base, close enough to remember that I'd wake up to it.

I’m a 22 year old in college. Planning on commissioning as a naval officer when I finish. Partying was never for me, but my neighbors are always frat boys who party until 2am most weekend and weekdays. I have started playing this on my speakers with all the windows open at 6am. 🎉

As a boy scout who recently finished camping, this will be forever stuck in my head. Imagine 5 in the morning just waking up and then out of no where this plays.

I played this for my dad on Veterans Day, and he went to stand up, realized I played it looked at me and when back to sleep. BACKSTORY BEHIND HIS SERVICE: My dad was in a Marine Mortar Platoon and so the VA offered him Hearing Aids due to his consistent trouble hearing my family. My dad was there for Blackhawk Down in Somalia. He's been in the Second Persian Gulf War and Afghanistan as well. He was lucky he made it out. He then joined the Airforce, his job was to order parts for the C-130s (he was on a reservist base so they only had those planes, nothing else). He retired in 2019 and his glory inspires me to join the United States Army when I am old enough. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO SERVED OUR COUNTRY. THANK YOU FOR PROTECTING THE LIVES OF MILLIONS, WE APPRECIATE IT EVERY STEP OF THE WAY.

My dad was in the army during desert storm and I played this the day before he had to take off for Disney a couple weeks back on my jbl speaker on full blast. The speed my old man showed was almost superhuman the way he shot up out of bed scrambling to get his corners at ninety degrees and was looking for his combat boots for a good 15 seconds before he realized all that shit was 30 years ago. He then took my shoulder in one hand and slammed me up against the wall and screamed,” DON’T YOU EVER DARE TO DO THAT AGAIN YOU HEAR ME?!?!” Little did I know he still has PTSD from his past.

My sister and I had to get up at 2 for a flight this morning, so I put this on and blared it in her ear, needless to say she was livid, but it was so worth it 😅😅, thanks for making my morning a laugh! ❤❤

Reveille holds a special place in my heart where it’s the only thing that will wake me up first time every time and make it to where the first word out of my mouth after I wake up is “Fuck”

I remember back in high school I was a band kid and I played trumpet. Our class was right before lunch and as band students we can eat in the band room, so long as we didn’t leave a mess. One time I finished early and was organizing my sheet music and I went to get a new copy of a piece that was well worn, and I found the sheet music for Reveille. Asked my director about it and he said he has a few copies of it; he’s retired army, never knew exactly why he has ‘em but that’s his business and I didn’t ask. So I borrowed it, and returned the copy after a few days. It’s been so many years since I last played, I wonder if I can still play the notes correctly. Don’t think I played it well back then but I’m pretty sure I confused my neighbors.

Was at Fort Jackson for a basic training graduation of my causin, and absolutely love the discipline and everything i saw. Encouraging my 15yrs old to enlist once he's eligible. Would be proud to have him serve this great country that gave us everything. We came with nothing, but are proud of our achievements decades later and all thanks to this great country.

My dad sleeps through his alarms. I was tasked to wake him up. Playing this from my phone on full blast worked.

I do this to my teens and yell GOOOOOD MORNING VIETNAM!!!! My dad was USMC Reservist when the war in Nam was on. He was called in to arms 2weeks before it ended😅

My grandfather would get up and make pancakes before going into each of our rooms and playing Reveille with his voice because “it’s time to get up, it’s time to get up, it’s time to get up in the morning!” …at 6AM! 😅 Ahhh, such fond memories though. ❤️

I learned some of this on my trombone, and I can play pretty close to the tempo with not too many mistakes. I’m proud of myself

My son is a Corporal in Army Cadets. I have pranked him with this afew times and woken him up for school and work with it. I should set it as my alarm tone. Love it ❤

I just got my first bugle from Amazon. I am a professional violin player, but since I watched westerns as a kid in the 1950s, I wanted to play a bugle. I also ordered a trumpet. Never played them before.

This is my dad's alarm and he was a former Irish army soldier for 26+ years although he is still considered in it just inactive

I just woke my 12 year old daughter up with this video, playing it on the surround sound system!!! Today was her school taking a tour of the museum ship USS LCI-713 (retired), on which she is a crew member and youth ambassador. They used that melody to wake us up in both the Scouting and Cadet groups my parents signed me into as I grew up. I don't know if they still do this today but I personally loved that they used it to wake us up.

I went to sma prep(Sarasota military academy prep) and at 9am we had to stand at formation were we all stand at the position of attention and hearing this made me remember that people used to pass out because it got that hot It was a fun school year and I met a lot of cool people I miss the prep.

My dad wàs in the Army during the Korean War. He was stationed in Texas and he was a bugler, up to play Reveille in the morning and Taps at night. He never got orders to ship out although he wanted to.

Oh lord this takes me back when I was still in highschool, I did NJROTC all 4 years, and my dad having been in the Army in the 80's and he grew up as a navy brat, and having done NJROTC all for years like myself was sadistic bastard, if he even suspected me having gone to bed late would barge into my room at 0500!, cause my bus ran at like 0530 and play Reveille on his trumpet from when he was in band in highschool as well, (yeah how he managed band and JROTC in highschool is still beyond me) and then cap it off with a drill sergeant tone and volume say "Rise n Shine!! Reveille! Drop Your Cocks and Grab Your Socks!! Get Your Ass In Gear!" not bad for a Army PFC, though he was a 1st Lt. in the state militia in the 90's after his stint in the Army. point is, he always made damn sure I never missed the bus.
