Depends on perspective. Having your game covered by IGN or Kotaku is just free exposure at this point because they are always involved in some kind of drama that never stops trending. Chances are Wukong would have never gotten this popular without their involvement, so in a sense they actually did the devs a favor. There's two ways to get more sales; good reviews from trustworthy sources, and bad reviews from those everyone despises. If nothing else, this only shows how rage-baiting people into buying something out of spite is a very valid and successful tactic. How long until the industry starts doing this more often? Or perhaps they already do and we're all being taken for a ride...? 🤔

I agree the art design of BMW is crazy good

I just hope that BMW takes one of the most important aspects of Souls games: that the story and ambiance are subtle. I hope they don't hammer us over the head with story, button prompts, tutorials. In other words, i hope they trust the player like Fromsoft does in just presenting the game subtlely and trusting that the players will accept it without having it drilled into them. Fromsoft games are alluring without having to resort to pandering.

When it was first announced I thought it was one of those scam games or vaporware. It still blows my mind how good it looks!

Let's be real. FromSoft WISHES it were this good. They even admit they barely know anything about the west which is why their games are so odd and sit badly with anyone who likes history or western fantasy. BMW is pretty spot on. It's like Atlus where they do add some creativity but it's in the name of representing the real mythos. Lies of P is how western style fantasy in this vein should look, even if it's more fairytale and less historic which makes sense since it's based on actual fairytales. The souls games are rapidly getting overtaken at this point. FromSoft needs to, in the words of Asmonpops, "Step the f*ck up.".

Alien isolation is one of my favourite games of all time. The platinum was one of the most memorable journeys of a game I had. I played it again recently and it still looks and plays awesome

And them along with other usual junk pundits killed the potential fan base and sequel. AI was a masterpiece is suspense and horror. Literal edge of your seat horror. I wish they’d make a second.
