Everything you see in this video was legal and abides by FWC rules and regulations for sharks in Florida!
Every year swarms of Bull sharks congregate around the Florida Keys bridges! My buddy Chad from ‪@Chadgonefishing‬ called me up and told me this year they worse than ever and stealing all his fish! Bull Sharks are one of the shark species that you are allowed to harvest in the state of Florida. The FWC is Florida's wildlife organization that manages and regulates our shark species. According to their research Bull sharks have a healthy enough population in our state waters, that a licensed fisherman can harvest one bull shark per person per day! This is the third year in row I have have harvested a Bull shark for a Catch Clean Cook!

I love sharks but a lot of people don't understand that bulls are a great sustainable fish for anyone to eat. The fact that you guys rig all the right gear and harvest the meat properly is the best way to do it. Also doing it once a year is great! Proper fishermen. Great watch!

Here in Aus they are not super common in the far south and no one fishes for them but up north they are super annoying to fisherman like myself and they are everywhere! This video vividly reminds me of my deceased best friends love for fishing in Florida. Only got to do it with hime twice as I am a West Coaster, but I taught him how to bass fish when we were teens. He passed 12 years ago diving for lobsters in FL. Great video, it warms my heart. I said I would never go back to FL, but this reminds me of one of the best humans I ever knew and his love for fishing, and I might have to return to FL, just for him.

If you dump the sharks back into the ocean, with it's fins cut off ,especially where you caught them what do you think eats them? The communist who run fish and wildlife in oregon ,have so many sea lions eating the fish, there are so many crabs ,very few fish off Oregon beaches. Astoria oregon used to be a big fishing port. Greedy fished it out. Oregon used to be known for trees also. Communist shut that industry down. Just plant some trees after you cut some down...duh

Victor, I want to know if the rod made it out unscathed? I've seen lesser rods where the fisherman was resting the blank on the gunnel, and had them snap right at the point of contact. I've got one Penn International 80ST rigged with wire just for sharks. it's tough on the spool, corrosion wise, but I've never lost a shark or ray biting the line off.

Everyone read this first thoroughly before commenting: I don't mind people fishing legally within the limits Fish and Game, I honestly can care less, what I do mind is minimizing dedication of all wildlife officials in these videos, if it were not for them, you would not have this phenomenal video! From 19:00 to 20:40 to barely acknowledge these officers is far too little. I would like every fisherman with this platform, to appreciate and interview what it takes for everyone to bring home they're prized catch from the frontline wildlife official's hard work. That's honestly the only thing I'm annoyed about......The shark fabrication, breakdown and culinary education was joy to watch, also the hard work to reel one in. Congrats, and much love, hope, inspiration

Such a shame you would get demonetised for showing people how food is prepared (I hate the idea of a bubble wrap society), whilst I advocate protection of sharks from overfishing it seems Florida fish and game are on top of managing it and ensuring it is sustainable fishery. The respect you showed the shark after, also awesome man great vid.Florida looks amazing lots of respect from Australia, we got plenty of sharks down under🙂

I love most of what you do, especially your catch and cooks, I dont agree with the taking of any large predator from the water however. Small ones taster better anyway and it Is less impactful to the Bull shark population. I also see people talking about the Florida shark population problem, implying that there are too many of them. I totally disagree with this, it is more likely that there is no place on this planet where shark populations are where they should be, let alone too many

Shark is super common to eat in Australia. They are caught as bycatch in cray and crab pots as well as other commercial fishing modes and sold in take away restaurants. And lots of people fish them recreationally from jetties and beaches.

@@NicolasValentinScotlandsharks here are overpopulated now because people like y’all would rather fish the snapper and grouper to death than harvest equally. These sharks are an enormous problem and have no natural predators so they’re getting out of control.
