REVEREND GUITARS FACTORY TOUR - TOLEDO, OH HEADQUARTERS
John and Zach tour REVEREND GUITARS in Toledo, OH with Reverend CEO Ken Haas. Ken and Penny Haas own Reverend Guitars and Railhammer Pickups, and are shepherding the company through a major period of growth. They bought the company from founder Joe Naylor, iconic guitar designer with a degree in Industrial Design who founded the company in 1997 with the infrastructure and heart of Motor City. We start with a tour by Tim Korenich, Inventory Manager/Artist Relations at Reverend who gives us the history of Reverend and an outstanding tour. We round the tour out with Ken Haas, and then join Ken and Penny for a sitdown interview and guitar demo with the latest and greatest Reverend Guitars.

The guy from Fu Manchu had a killer signature model back in the day. It was a cool looking wood V. Had Railhammers? Either way I loved it. And some of the Sensai models I have seen. Kind of like the HEAVIER end of things. Enjoyed hearing about the company, had a good "underdog" for the working folk feel. Good on y'all.

Proud Reverend owner and it appears Zak setup and signed off on my LH Double Agent OG. Great guitar. Unfortunately it had fret sprouts (bought it from Scotland so it flew MANY miles and I can only imagine all the temp changes) but Mr. & Mrs Haas sorted it out for me PDQ! Glad to support this company :)

Great video, guys! It's fun to get an inside look and you guys always do a good job getting laid back and intimate interviews and tours. Reeves Gabrels is the main reason I know Reverend. I recognized him from Bowie but didn't know his name until he joined The Cure.

I just recently bought a jet stream 390….. It’s the most versatile guitar I have ever played period. I think the bass contour control is one of the most innovative control I’ve ever see. I can get great p90 sounds but also get those dirty strat sounds. It also plays super nice! Great guitars in my opinion!

Knaggs tour would be gr8. I automatically think Steve Stevens when I see Knaggs. Also a Framus tour P&T? Liking big-time those Phil X Sig. Framus XG's {molto under-rated}, the matt black & white XG in particular. You rock like Hades guys - Joe & Ken @Reverend - real novel inventive muso's muso's, Naylor's off-tap designs are the ducks nuts. Those old (rare) Naylor Amps are wicked btw.! Greg Koch did not bring me here, he brought me manic improvision envy tho, he is a proper guitar killin' monster (funny as f*$% too). Guitarcheologist since '79.🎸

I honestly never liked the retro style of Reverend,but I recently inherited a 2015 Double agent and wow…just wow. I have some excellent guitars and the tones I get out of this and the playability are second to none. I’m beyond impressed. Well worth the price. Kills the competition in every way. This will be my secret weapon. The interview just made me like the guitar more. What a cool company! the Bass Contour Control is the best thing to happen to guitar since the humbucker. Joe is a freakin genius.

The 'DirtBike' 2-P90, and the 'Susquatch", I mean Koch P90 Grizzle look really interesting!! I still have a hard time accepting the "plug in/charge the pups' thing', I'm a bit old school there. I wonder if the Grizzle is available w/ the Mojotone pups?? BTW, Mojotone built the 3 "speaker cabs" for my guitar rig and they are outstanding!! My 'custom design' and the quality is the best I've ever had!! A shameless plug as they did me a solid!!! Thanks guys! Great video!! And thanks to Ken for his infinite wisdom on everything!! 8) JMHO's Peace... --gary

It's how it has been done for ages. When I ordered my first Reverend direct it was the original Gil Parris and requested Naylor's signature on the head stock and they did that along with a 10ga setup. They had like 60 mom and pop dealers in the network back then. I had to drive from Raleigh to Richmond VA to even try one out.There was an internet buzz about them so I really wanted to check them out as I was interested in an orange clubman with a bigsby back then. You could order their fixed tailpiece guitars with a wah device back then.

It's funny I was just at guitar center on the west side and it was the one you said you damaged and you love.. If I wasn't poor at the moment I would have scooped that dog up it was kind of matte black one top side wt binding very nice. I had one of the custom shop fenders sunburst 63 with the laqure and it didn't play close to as well and I'm not a pureist but I got sick of how pretty it was so I aged it with a set of special tools. Mostly a material a speaker from a top secret group I attended for a while and his aunt's made with the stuff good uncle's stole from the weld shop they worked at. He said the room would get very Kenetic.. Steel sheep scare me. Anyway, I like your guitars they are so much the love child of our generation. I'm a boomer by one month but I'm a X too it's funny how close those little labels are. I have a question. I've built a few guitars myself and I'll build some more and over always designed and built all kinds of things. I was a shop teacher they call it technology now. My point is I find something to be special and I learn about them Yamaha guitars. Never blew me away until I was gifted A POS old 140 acoustic ply everywhere. Stickers everywhere. I was not sure of it was worth the investment of a set of strings.. So, I did the standard" hey y'all watch this" took the leap and it blew me away how nice it sounded after I did just the basic fake bone tress rod. But I have great respect for that company. They are a first rate operation. Is the Rev in Revstar anything to do with that cool double cutaway I have come close to drawing before I ever saw these and I sure you mind was not quite that cool. Also I noticed what I think is the prototype or pedisesor the Yamaha SG custom which I think is cooler than the Gibson and I live the Gibson. Anyway, I'm really going to feel stupid when you say. "The what? I've never heard of such things." Lol I figure you're a high quality organization and I'm sure you know that there are other ones as well. Lol I love the P90s but one of my favorites of the Dynasonic singles the Gretsch. Hey I found Michelle Mcwarter Mister Tolex to me one day when I was looking for an amp kit. I said hey that's inner two hours up the road close to the ocean .. road trip. You totally know good people. Another good operation on my opinion. Anyway, of I write any more I'm going to have to hire an agent and a publisher and I'm on the short story range now slash relative. Only one more thing the star guitar originally although very well made was set up for a childs hand. But the new ones are great I love the way they play. I was actually a little grumpy over them not making such a cool guitar I that I can play. That's it. Good day

@charlesbolton8471
@charlesbolton8471 2 жыл бұрын
Personally, I’m thankful that the guitar industry is one industry where we still have the option of buying American products. I agree Reverend probably could remain successful with American made guitars, but the price increase that would be involved in moving production to the USA would drive some people away. As far as other industries are concerned there is absolutely zero chance of ending globalism. Even it was possible to end globalism a large percentage of Americans would just be too damn cheap to prevent it from happening again. Even in the guitar industry there are certain species of wood that are not native to the USA that are essential to the guitar industry, and many people will not accept alternatives.

I want to see the guitars being built at the Mirr factory. I could care less about the distribution “factory” where they get set up in the US. And Ken might be an okay guy, but he’s obviously a major shill for his company, and he doesn’t make me like “his” company more than if he just stayed out of it. Sorry, but I don’t think that he actually “does” anything other than promote the company that he purchased from Joe Naylor.
