We sort our garbage at home. We organize ocean clean-ups. But then what? What happens to the microplastics and plastic that is too degraded or mixed with other materials and falls below the economic threshold of recycling worth?
Kamila Kunrath is a tech-savvy Brazilian entrepreneur currently living in Denmark. She is the CEO & Co-Founder of BlueBenu - Reverse Engineering Plastics which is a startup focused on technology development for tackling plastic pollution and creating circular economy.
In this talk, Kamila takes us back to the basics of plastic and reminds us that the material is, originally, oil and gas. She explains how her prototype “pressure cooker” reverts non-recyclable plastic back to its prime materials, in order to be reintegrated into the economy.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx Kamila is a tech-savvy Brazilian entrepreneur currently living in Denmark.
