Sure Catarina saved Anne from a loveless marriage and has given Anne purpose beyond being a tool, but I see it more as that she is grateful to Catarina and wanting to be there her for when Catarina needs help than romantic love. Anne follows more of Catarina’s mom’s instructions revolving being more strict towards Catarina than Catarina’s instructions herself half the time.

It's so powerful that she adds a dog to it... made of Dark Magic... that just existing somehow eats her life force... and it really has no actual effect on her, but it pretends to be a puppy around her just to get her approval... and she got it to do that... because when it was being snaked, she just kept bashing it over and over and over again and destroying it... and just says, "Man, if you were a puppy or something, I might have held back". The Darkness is like, "sounds good, I'll be your puppy" and is promptly added to the harem...

It occurs to me that our lovely Katarina could reduce the baddies to quivering masses of jelly if she would put on her villainous face and a bold act. Tell this joker that she has lived countless lifetimes in thousands of worlds and has knowledge of weapons and technology that he can't even dream of; then, if she wasn't an airhead, if she could put together some small demonstration, like a chemical reaction that would wow him, she could have him groveling at her feet. Of course that'll probably happen anyways!
