Good tip for shows: Clap off time so the musician screws up.

He probably hated them for clapping.

Talked to him today, he confirms this. He had intended to play it a bit slower than normal before the show but the clapping made him play it faster than he wanted.

I saw Psyopus play after about 5-6 sub-par metal bands. Without a doubt, they not only showed more talent than the other bands, they put forth double the effort and created infinitely more energy than any of the other bands did. They didn't get on stage and pitch the typical "this next song is (xxxxx)...buy our fuckin shit...lemme see slam-dancing to our trite breakdowns." They interacted and connected and had fun with the 10-15 people remaining. That's what music performance should be IMO.

This music is the kind that you listen to without making noise in the crowd so you can truly appreciate it.

Seen em live twice in Buffalo and once in Rochester. They were gonna play at my buddies garage show but the whole thing fell through. They really were though. Awesome dudes. Arp is a monster. Wish he'd do solo shit or something

You can tell that hardly anyone in the audience was a guitarist. Guitarists just stand there with their arms crossed, studying the performance. Also, they don't clap like idiots.

It did fuck him up, I met him yesterday and he talked about his life and inspirations and shit, and he told us this story.

I like how people are trying to clap to the rhythmic mess that is imgoen's puzzle pt. 2. Probably got on the verge of fucking him up, too. XD

what i think allot of people fail to realise about when he plays this song live is that he allways waits tell the very end of the show to play after you have been playing non stop for hours (hours of psyopus) your performance will greatly suffer. believe me your pinky is not so happy with those triplets and hammerons after awhile

Psyopus is quite musical, but they're ABRASIVE AS FUCK. other bands try to be "brutal" but Psyopus shit is on another level of eardrum rape. one day... one day I will be good enough at music to really "get" what the hell's going on with this guy's works.

Why is he playing through a clean tone? Distortion would make it sound better in my opinion.
