Deccan express and Madgaon jan shatabdi both have vista dome coaches and so they are in rake sharing or rather rake exchange to level the wear and tear on the coaches. same is done for Mum Delhi Rajdhani and August Kranti Rajdhani . also there is no direct EMU train between Pune and CST, the EMU at shivajinagar is from the pune - lonavala route

I have always wondered as why Central Railways does not keep 1/2 coaches permenantly attached to the banker locos and sell tickets to passengers between karjat and Lonavala and back and between kasara and igatpuri and back. there are local trains from CST to Karjat as well as from Lonavala to Pune ( and viceversa). Karjat Lonavala is the missing link where many passengers either opt for cabs, buses or enter the other long distance trains without valid tickets for that section. if railways had a coach or two attached to bankers then they could sell tickets to such passengers, and they would have a very pleasant journey both ways since the banker loco return back to karjat immediately. this would also ease the traffic in the old pune highway as well as on expressway , especially in the narrow ghat section. it is a win win situation if only railways seriously thought about it.
