The tech is pretty simple but the results are incredible. So realistic. We basically have robots in our homes

I purchased this little guy from Spin Master directly in 2017. He is entertaining to interact with. I do not experience the issues with the head falling off. That is, unless BB8 is traveling at a fast pace, and bumps into a wall. There are four magnets in the head. When applied to the sphere, find where the magnets will grab. Then twist the head, until you feel it lock into place. The connection is strong enough to the point, if you lift the head, the body will left slightly. Alignment is the key. I was a little disappointed that BB8 isn't as Fully Interactive as Hasbro's 2002 - 2007 R2-D2. In my eyes, BB8 should not have come with a remote. Instead the toy should depend on voice commands, and sensors. It appears that BB8 needs a earring aid, because you practically have to yell at him in order for him to respond, and for him to figure out what direction he should turn to. BB8 does have sensors, but do not work as intended. BB8 still bumps into things. Major down fall. Rechargeable batteries. They do no last long on a charge, and you have to dismantle him to replace those batteries. So, in another words, "A Throw Away Toy". However, there is video on how to access those power cells.

The best BB-8 replica on the market. He's super cool and acts like the one in the movies. Fun to watch and the "emotions" button on the remote provides a ton of cool and funny reactions.

This thing is AMAZING! I just picked mine up today, The size is perfect. The size has to be seen in person to be appreciated and it is pretty heavy. I just weighed mine and it comes in at 11.2 pounds. If it was any bigger there would be no way for it to work in a person's home unless you own a mansion. Highly recommend!

Well guys, I finally decided to take on the BB8 rechargeable battery replacement. The dismantling process wasn't as bad as I thought. For ever piece removed, I would document by taking a picture of the part and screws. Needless to say, upon reassembling BB8, I did not have any screws left. The rechargeable batteries were easy to purchase, however the wires or either too short, or the old connector needs to be spliced onto the new battery. I decided to increase the mAhs. This does make BB8 have longer play times. The body battery (six AA) 7.2v battery pack was at 1800 mAh, and increased to 2000 mAh. The head battery 3.7 v Lipo Battery 400 mAh, increased to 600 mAh. Recharging the body battery does not take as along compared to the OEM battery. A huge plus in my book. The head battery is about the same. BB8 has regained full functionality once again. Another words, BB8 Lives!
