There are ups and downs to studio 3s.

Definitely....I feel like it''s about sound preference. Similar to a sound system in a car.

Latif Karim I don’t think you can turn of Noise cancellation with the Studio 2s like you can with the 3s. That’s one thing that’s good about the studio 3s. You can turn off ANC to make the battery last longer.

I would say more like 6 to 6S. Maybe a few gimmicky upgrades but not much. the 8 actually has much better internals. But I get your point

It’s actually more different, I used a 2 for two years, when I put the 3 on and then switch back to the 2, it feels like the 2 doesn’t even has noisy canceling.

JJ J 6 to 6s internally was a huge upgrade

I know if you will upgrade your studio 2’s earcushions at wicked cushions I’m not trying to advertise for them but it makes a world of difference on the noise canceling and it also makes them more comfortable.My friend has the studio3’s and we did our own little test and comparison between my 2’s with replacement ear cushions from wicked cushions vs his studio 3’s on the Xbox One X with Dolby Atmos sound and my studio 2’s blew those 3’s out of the water in every way those things are a waste of money like I said just upgrade the cushions and hang on to your 2’s right now that’s the better choice if you like beats studio.

Kngkupi if your going for sound quality then the 3s and the 3s have more battery life than the 2s but the 2s are genuinely louder with more base I find my $50 urban ears are louder than the 3s but hey it’s your money

2s got much more bass trust me ...i am staying here fresh unpack my new 3s to end my 2.0 and give them away ...but holy the 2.0s are louder and much ...much more bass ....its like auna vs sundown audio

2’s have better sound than the 3’s. 2’s are noise cancelation.

I have 2s and love them great base and highs. they really bring the music to life unlike other headphones I've used (Bose mainly) I hear the 3s don't sound as good, but are more balanced

It's not huge but the noise cancellation is much better.

You will notice the difference if you have worn the 2's for a while.

The studio 3's also have a noise cancellation option that the others do not. You do have to use an Apple device to access these settings to turn it on and off though. The Studio 2's are great headphones as well so I agree if they work then there is no real need to get the 3's.

Joe's Gaming & Electronics The Noise Canceling option can actually be turned on/off without an Apple device via two taps to the power button, I'm an Android/PC user so that came in handy to me.

3's quality of life is just so much better, the only upside to studio 2's in my opinion is the base is a little heavier, and they are slightly cheaper.

2s are louder and sounds like a amp and subs in your ear lol i just got another pair of 2s and omg they are better then 3s so much

The headphones are exactly the same size actually :) They can both be adjusted for a different size of head, but they are the same sized ear pads and headband. MD.

Agree 100%, Also the pre-Apple Studio 2s were louder that the post-Apple Studio 2s (they removed the bass boost, the Studio 1 had a button, the pre-Apple Studio 2 it was the last volume increase, I noticed when I got the second pair post-apple that last increase was gone). I had the same reaction when I bought the Studio 3, I was returning them 15 mins after I purchased them. I think Apple is trying to appease the people who say they have too much Bass, but that's what they were made for. Watch "The Defiant Ones" Dre says it, other headphones had no Bass and that's how we listen to Hip-Hop (the number 1 genre in the world), it's bass heavy. Also everyone acts scared to say something about Apple because I have yet to see a review give them a thumbs down for removing the wall charger and extra headphone cable that used to come standard with the Studios BEFORE Apple. Same price, less in the box, I bet they won't sell an iPhone without the wall adapter.

Pre and Post 2's are the exact same manufacture and driver. Nothing about them are different. Only the 3's are slightly less loud but have clearer sound.

Jermaine Murray, You hit right on the head. I just bought a pair of Studio3's (for the longer battery life) and I thought maybe I got a bad pair. I too have the Studio2's and to me they sound better. The 3's sound muffled, I really have to turn it up to get the highs. I use them at work and my music library is vast. The 3's will not cut it, they are being returned. Even the reviewer said it, the 3's are quieter.

Joe's - On my S8+ the headphone volume and phone volume are independent. I can have the phone at full media volume and increase the volume more via the Beats.

2's are cheaper and work just as well but have a shorter battery life and don't have the better Bluetooth connection.

2s are better, they have great Bluetooth connection so any improvements aren't actually needed, battery life is still great, I use it non stop on love flights I get like 15h on Bluetooth

2 is way more louder keep it

2 focuses more on bass, the other one is more on like vocals. But overall studio 2 is just better.

I have both headphones, and I think they have their own markets tbh. The AudioTechnicas are really good monitor headphones, but honestly they arent very good looking. Beats are pretty good headphones (not as good as ATs), but I think theyre mostly looked at as accessories

That is a great question! He must have had a student discount and taken advantage of some sort of special sale. Apple sells them new for around $350 so either the guy got a really good deal, or he is bluffing :) MD.

KZfaqr - Not sure what's wrong with your Galaxy but mine rock with my Note 5, Galaxy S7, and S8+. I can't hear anything else when I turn them up, not even people yelling to get my attention in the gym.

chrisj979 but if u use an xperia phone, u may notice a slight difference in sound quality. They are not bad on s7 edge but since i used xperia aswell so i feel this difference. Phones like V30, XZ, and HTC U11 are known to have better internal audio quality.
