I read this book last year and it is essential. Anyone watching this channel will likely love this man's writings, with information not found anywhere else.

As a Guitar Player, I absolutely LOVE Ronnie's playing. I consider myself quite fortunate to have grown in up in Ronnie's stomping grounds - the SF Bay Area; as I saw him countless times from Santa Cruz to San Jose to San Rafael, from the late 80s until we lost him. I know everyone has their own opinion about who is the Greatest unsung, underdog guitarist, but for me it's Ronnie hands down. From heavy and melodic, to gentle and powerful, Ronnie had an Laser-like Intensity when he was focused as on the debut MONTROSE Record and GAMMA 2, as well as the Speed of Sound instrumental record that NEVER fails to get your blood flowing! You are sorely missed Ronnie, and thank you again Pete for not just this Book review, but also your and Martin's recent Video, ranking the studio albums from Ronnie's solo career as well as GAMMA. This book is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow by Amazon. Can't wait. Peace ♫

First concert in 1973- Montrose opening for Black Oak Arkansas (hard to believe)! I wore out the original Montrose album- then purchased the CD about 10 years ago! Truly groundbreaking !

I always enjoy Marty Popz' books. He's OK with me calling him that (in that he doesn't know). I'm always glad to see him on Banger TV, too! Thanks for the cool review, Pete! Or...Peteypie?

This book is the definitive biopic on Ronnie Montrose. I’m so impressed by the depth and detail of Popoff’s research and interviews. I’m a huge Ronnie Montrose freak and there’s more information in this book than even I could’ve hoped for. His other books on bands like BOC, Rainbow, Priest, UFO, etc, etc are similarly insightful and detailed.

Ronnie was such a great guy I was lucky enough to drive him from Springfield Missouri to St Louis he played the blueberry Hill which was Chuck Berry's old club and what a great man what a motivational great guitar player it's just so sad that alcohol and all that cuz he was never that way I'm a reformed alcoholic of 39 years I didn't seem as much on the end and I wish I could have helped him

oh man,,,this is sad and great all in one. Saw Montrose at Winterland with Sammy and Bob James then Gamma at The Cow Palace. Ruled everytime. "84 a band mate buys tix for a Keystone Palo Alto show which somewhow played ALL this. Met him in the parking lot afterwards (gal with us saw him). Seriously one of the best moments of my entire life. RIP, Ronnie. You are missed.

If youre a Montrose fan, they have a show called Ronnie Montrose Remembered every year during NAMM(in Anaheim, California). Its a great show featuring many great musicians playing Montrose music.

I only have Montrose and Paper Money on vinyl and CD. Saw Montrose in 1975 with Elvin Bishop and the Guess Who.

Just finished it . Great read, as always from Martin. Yeah...Skip Gilette... I would describe his personality as "SOUR" at best. He probably would blame Ronnie for Covid-19 if he could.

I'll have to pick that one up. I wonder if it talks about guest appearances like the one he did on the Tony Williams album Joy of Flying?

Sammy! Thanks Pete this looks like a awesome book. I'm sure you know that Sammy still plays with some of the old band members like Denny carmassi.

Love that first album , Paper Money wasn’t bad either, the next couple of albums are pretty poor compared to these classics!
