Elastic nylon straps are widely touted for how comfortable and adjustable they are.
I tried an Erika's Original strap on my Omega Seamaster professional 41mm watch to see how it felt. The strap is both expensive and very well-made, which made me interested in trying out a generic strap of the same style to see if it can compare.
The generic's fabric comes close in quality, but the buckle on my generic was apparently incorrectly assembled, rendering the strap almost useless.
While this type of strap is certainly comfortable, I found the hook and buckle closure system to be difficult to use.

I just picked up a knockoff from Long Island watch, very comfortable more so than Nato. The only downfall for me is you can't just swap them in 5 seconds. Clasp didn't bother me once I got used to it.

Thanks for the info. I like Marc from LI watch, did not know that they sell these. I imagine most knockoffs don't have the buckle problem mine did. I love the material these straps use but they lack the easy swapability of regular nato.

I got mine from LongIslandWatch. Well made, worth the $20. Downside is that it is like wearing anything elastic - it leaves an impression on your skin. I tried making the band as loose as possible but then the clasp was not firmly fastened. I moved on.

Thanks for the info, didn't know Long Island watch had these. I prefer a well fitting traditional NATO to this type of strap myself.

I understand that they are generic there. I mean I saw the video and he didn't present them as Erica's Originals.

There are slip on elastic bands that don’t have the hook/buckle from Amazon for around $30 Aus. Been wearing it everywhere for a few weeks and it did not loosen and feels great. I’ll definitely be buying some different colours.

Definitely prefer a standard nato. But I like the material and colors of the MN straps

To me, the ease of changing nato straps is a big part of their appeal... for that reason alone I would probably not get anymore EO or similar straps.

@@omegawatchfan my daily watch is the khaki field mechanical, and just about all I put it on are natos. Totally obsessed with them. Cheap, comfortable, good looking, and easy to change.

I’m not a fan of NATO’s but like you I got both cheaper and Erika original for EO was far better but still put my AT back on its deployment after a few weeks

I think NATOs have a lot of shortcomings, but the big plus for me is the ability to take them on and off very easily, which makes it easy to change looks or to wash the strap. The EO style straps lack that functionality by requiring a tool to remove. As I also mentioned in the vid, I don't like the hook closure system either.
